Each and every character in Task comes with a layer of complexity that resembles the real-life situations that people face. Unlike the crime dramas that we are usually accustomed to, where the difference between the good and the bad is quite striking, it is not the case for Task. In this series, there is an authentic representation of how human beings are in the real world.

The aspect of grey elements in the character makes the series worth watching. Amongst the many characters, Grasso’s sister, Frankie, definitely gains quite the attention from the viewers, even with the limited screentime. Her screentime is hardly comparable to the other characters; however, the manner in which she represents Grasso’s nature steals the show. The very talented Lilli Kay takes on the character of Frankie in the series.

Task character, Frankie’s special connection with Yellowstone

If you have already watched Yellowstone, then you must have found Frankie quite familiar. Lilli Kay, who takes on the role of Frankie, previously worked in Yellowstone as well. Yes, before becoming Grasso’s sister in Task, Lilli Kay took on the role of Clara in Yellowstone. Clara was John Dutton’s assistant with significant screen time throughout the eight episodes.

Even with her brief presence in Task, her performance showed the viewers the depth of her acting prowess. If we look into her presence as Frankie in the series, it cannot be denied that her contribution is crucial. However, there could have been more of her storyline in the series. Many viewers pointed out that Lili Kay could have brought out even more nuance if her screentime were more in Task. She perfectly handled the struggle Frankie faced, knowing that her brother did bad things.

Despite the things that Grasso did, there is a reason behind his actions. He is not a purely evil character. He, just like the other characters, wanted to do good for his sister and her family. The path he chose as an informant to gain extra cash was definitely not the right path. There is a layer of desperation that pushed him to take the route. In the end, after Lizzie is killed, Grasso is completely shattered. He understands the consequences of his actions.

Lilli Kay’s performance as Frankie in Task depicts how, even with a shorter screentime, a deep message can be delivered. Frankie’s presence in Grasso’s life and his behavior towards his sister revealed why he did what he did. Besides her performance in Yellowstone, Lilli Kay also worked in a multitude of movies and TV shows. With the project she took on, she honed her talent, which can perfectly be seen in the performance that she delivers each time.

Some of her other notable projects that definitely deserve a place in your watchlist are Your Honor, Chambers, Rustin, Stick, and many more. In Your Honor, Lilli Kay worked beside Bryan Cranston. Through her works in Taks and Yellowstone, we can understand how versatile she is in handling any type of role that comes her way.

Through the seven episodes of the series, the various aspects of human nature that come to light truly shine bright. The series is available for streaming on HBO Max.
