Boardwalk Empire alumna Gretchen Mol has joined Tulsa King Season 4 as a series regular, opposite Sylvester Stallone's Dwight 'The General' Manfredi. The Taylor Sheridan-created thriller crime series, which is currently releasing its third season on Paramount+, has already started production on its fourth chapter in Atlanta.Tulsa King premiered in November 2022 and follows Dwight, an American Mafia capo from New York, who is sent to Tulsa to expand his family's criminal empire after spending a prison sentence of 25 years. In an interview with People Magazine, 101 Studios’ Scott Stone addressed this showrunner issue and said:“We’re not going to have a showrunner. 101 is the showrunner.''Additionally, the show also dismissed more than 26 crew members across sound, stunt, and makeup between Seasons 3 and 4, which suggests that the production was going through many behind-the-scenes problems and changes for the upcoming season.While Dave Erickson stepped in for showrunner duties for Season 3, there were creative clashes between Stallone and Erickson, following which the lead star pushed for Terence Winter's (the original showrunner on Season 1) return. While Winter has returned as head writer and executive producer for Tulsa King Season 4, he will not handle creative and showrunner duties on set.Reportedly, Winter has opened the writer's room in LA and Scott Stone will handle the showrunner duties for the upcoming season.While plot details for Season 4 of Tulsa King are not revealed yet, Gretchen Mol's addition suggests that Dwight will continue to face new enemies while building his empire in Tulsa.
