Netflix is all set to release its upcoming mystery romance series, Had I Not Seen The Sun. It will be released in two parts, with the first part arriving on November 13, 2025, and Part 2 on December 11, 2025. The series is from the award-winning creative team behind the Taiwanese hit Someday or One Day, directed by Chiang Chi Cheng and Cien Chi-Feng.

Had I Not Seen the Sun begins with Li Jen-yao confessing his brutal crimes and surrendering himself to the police. He is labelled the Rainstorm Killer in society, and some years later, the documentary film crew arrives to interview Jen-yao for the first time. The crew consists of Chou Pin-yu, a junior staffer who finally gets access to the killer. When she dives deeper into his case, she experiences troubling visions of a schoolgirl, Chiang Hsiao-tung, which also connects to the killer's high school past. This way, the show shifts between present-day interview questions and Jen-Yao's past.

Chiang Chi as Chou Pin-yu

Chou Pin-yu, as mentioned, is the aspiring documentary filmmaker who, in the present timeline, visits the prison to interview Li Jen-yao. As she digs deeper into it, she becomes emotionally drawn into his life and the past he has lived. Eventually, it is revealed that her relationship with him isn't just professional. Soon, she starts to experience an absurd vision of a schoolgirl.

Lyan Cheng

In the synopsis available on he internet, this character's role is still under wraps. Lyan is listed as a major cast member, though. This suggests that she might play a role in the killer's past or the present-day narrative. She could also be someone who might be connected to the high school time and is also alive in the present time to offer a link to Pin-yu of her dreams.
