“Had a lot of trust in her”: The Traitors US winner Dylan Efron reflects on questioning Gabby’s true identity

The Traitors US Season 3 concluded with Faithfuls, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania, Ivar Mountbatten, former Bachelorette Gabby Windey, and Dylan Efron receiving the winning title. They also won the final grand prize of more than $200,000.

In an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair on March 6, 2025, Dylan Efron shared that he had doubts about Gabby's claims that she was a Faithful. Even though he suspected her of being a Traitor initially, The Traitors US star ended up realizing Gabby was the most Faithful out of all the Faithfuls.

Looking back at his thought process and his game strategy, Dylan questioned every player after the Traitor recruitment and Gabby was one of his suspects. Efron said:

"We really were on the same page, working together to get Danielle out that night. Then once there was a recruitment, of course you have to cast a little doubt on everybody. So I started to rethink, oh man, what if it is Gabby? But I actually had a lot of trust in her."

The Traitors US winner Dylan Efron opens up about his suspicions regarding potential Traitors

During his interview, The Traitors US winner Dylan Efron stated he was sure Gabby was a Traitor and had been observing every move she made. Despite following his intuition throughout the show and taking the correct steps at each stage, Efron changed his opinion about Gabby after the chess game in episode 9.

However, soon Efron realized he might have misjudged Gabby. The major evidence that confirmed Gabby wasn't a Traitor was that Efron and Tom weren't murdered yet, but Chriselle was. The Traitors US star explained:

"That morning, I came to the conclusion that Gabby was 100 percent Faithful because one, I would’ve been dead in the murder in plain sight [elimination] or Tom would’ve been dead and the last person Gabby would’ve murdered in plain sight is Chriselle Stause."

After that, Dylan was sure that Gabby was innocent and wasn't lying about being a Faithful. Reflecting on the remaining four Faithfuls making it to the finale, Efron admitted the "smart thing" was "to go down to two." Efron mentioned that Gabby was the most Faithful amongst the other Faithfuls and hence he would have been ready to conclude the game alongside her to claim the prize fund money. He said:

"It was one of those things where the smart thing to do [would be] to go down to two. If I was going to do that, it would be with Gabby. At that point, I did think she was the most Faithful of everybody, and Ivar—I was pretty damn sure was a Faithful, and then Dolores, you have to really nitpick to think of how she would be a Traitor."

Dylan continued explaining why he considered Gabby the most Faithful, he said:

"It would’ve been her voting history, the fact that she was so protective of Danielle. There were small flags that were getting raised, we had to be prepared, but we just didn’t want to go there."
