"Had mutual affection": The Morning Show Season 4 showrunner and cast explain Cory and Bradley's reunion in Episode 3

Apple TV+'s The Morning Show Season 4, Episode 3, Tipping Point is gripping and chaotic.

With the return of Paul Marks, Mia's resignation from UBN, and Bradley discovering new leads on the Wolf River story, the episode sets the tone for the series. But the highlight of the episode was the reunion of Bradley and Cory. In between the chaos, their passion-driven romantic moments took the episode a notch higher.

Bradley already had a lot going on in her life. On one hand, she was busy investigating the Wolf River story with Chip, on the other, she was striving to keep her job. However, when she messed up her segment, Mia was annoyed.

Meanwhile, Cory was trying his best to secure a deal (for financing his film project) with UBN via Stella. When he found out about Stella and Miles' (Celine's husband) secret affair, he used the information to blackmail Stella.

In Episode 3 of The Morning Show Season 4, Cory texts Bradley and asks her if she could meet him. Bradley visits his apartment and they chat over a glass of wine. They finally open up about instances where they sort of covered up for each other. The heartfelt conversation leads them to give in to their feelings.

After the nerve-racking Season 3 finale, their bond was shaken. But it seems like they find comfort in each other in difficult situations.

Speaking to Deadline, Billy Crudup, who plays Cory Ellison, said about the scene,

"A little bit of trust has been renewed in them. There was some trust lost at the end of the last season. Confirmation that they had mutual affection and some mutual trust left the door open for whatever a night of Twister or whatever you do."

The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 3: Showrunner and cast on Bradley and Cory's reunion

In Episode 3 of The Morning Show Season 4, after Bradley meets with Mia, she receives a text from Cory, which reads,

"Hi, stranger..I'm in town. I have a question for you. Can we talk?"

Cory welcomes Bradley into his apartment. Bradley compliments his apartment as Bradley enthusiastically talks about it. It's awkward yet comforting. Cory offers her a glass of wine, and they have a heartfelt conversation.

Cory asks whether Bradley told the Feds, and she assures him that she did not. Cory tells Bradley that he might be back working in UBN, and whether it would be comfortable for her. Bradley gets up from the sofa, and the two share a passionate kiss. Talking about the scene, Crudup further says,

“They no longer work together, and that was a major impediment to any kind of pursuit of their mutual affection. Also, their mutual affection didn’t always arrive at the same time for each of them. They just couldn’t coordinate when they wanted to get together, and the obstacle of being colleagues was anathema to everything Corey wanted to try to bring to UBA.”

Speaking to Deadline, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt also said that she feels that Bradley and Cory did not express their true feelings because they had professional restrictions. Now that Cory isn't a part of UBN, they could finally be together, at least for now.

Witherspoon also agreed that Bradley and Cory do have a connection. But Bradley might have other motives, too. Cory could provide her with useful information about the Wolf River story that she's investigating with Chip. Speaking to TVLine, she notes,

"I think it’s so interesting, too, their dynamic. I can’t even make heads or tails of it sometimes, why they’re so enmeshed. And they kind of antagonize each other.”

While Jennifer Aniston, who plays Alex, told TVLine,

“They (Bradley and Cory) love each other.”
