Harley Quinn Season 5: Release date, plot and more about the upcoming chapter of the DC animated series

Now that James Gunn's DC's Creature Commandos saw its conclusion on January 9, 2025, the universe is gearing up for Harley Quinn Season 5 which will release on January 16, 2025. It will continue the adventures of Quinn, the anti-hero and the former partner to Joker.

Created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for Batman, Quinn was a henchwoman and a primary love interest for Joker. But after he betrayed and abandoned her plans to run away together, she broke off with him and found a new partner.

The animated series, which debuted in November 2019, follows the adventures of Harley as she picks her life back after Joker's betrayal and finds a new crew with Poison Ivy, Clayface, Doctor Psycho, King Shark, and Sy Borgman. Ivy eventually becomes her romantic interest, and they face many villains in the show's subsequent seasons.

After the Gotham havoc in Season 4, Harley Quinn Season 5 will see Harley and Ivy starting a new life in the Metropolis with new careers. While Ivy will work with Lex Luthor's sister, Lena, on an eco-project, Harley will likely work as a journalist on The Daily Planet.

What is the release date of Harley Quinn Season 5?

Harley Quinn Season 5 will premiere on Max on January 16, 2025. Like Seasons 3 and 4, it will have a total of ten episodes, which will premiere weekly, concluding on March 20, 2025.

While Seasons 1 and 2 premiered three episodes together and followed a weekly release schedule for the remaining ten episodes, the show took a weekly release pattern since Season 3, which will also be adopted for Season 5.

What can you expect from Harley Quinn Season 5?

Season 5 will see a change in scenery from Gotham City as Harley and Ivy move to the Metropolis to start a new chapter in their life, but new problems will also follow them there.

The trailer suggests that the primary antagonist for this season will be Brainiac, the pre-crisis megalomaniac, who is accompanied by his pet monkey, Koko. His alien terrorist presence is seen attacking and invading the Metropolis with drones, which will cause a fight, and Harley and Ivy will likely fight against it.

In addition, it was reported that Lex Luthor might also return in Season 5 after his failure in the Kite Man spin-off. It is yet to be seen whether he will be a friend or a foe to Harley and Ivy. Elsewhere, the trailer also suggests that The Enchantress will also rise and raise an army of her own.
