The latest Love Island UK Season 12 episode saw an unexpected elimination. The episode featured another couple being dumped from the villa. It was Lucy and Tommy. It happened after Shakira and Ty were given the task to decide which couple they wanted to eliminate.
After thinking about the elimination for a long time, Shakira and Ty decided to dump Lucy and Tommy. Later in the elimination ceremony, Shakira revealed their decision, which led to Lucy and Tommy's elimination.
Love Island UK star Shakira announced her and Ty's decision:
"Obviously, this hasn't been an easy decision. Me and Ty had a lot of back and forth with each other. We discussed whether things are already solid enough for it to work on the outside, and if people still have things to explore within the villa. So, the couple we have decided to dump is...Lucy and Tommy."
Love Island UK Season 12: Shakira and Ty are voted as the Most Compatible Couple and are given an important task
After Andrada and Ben's elimination from the villa, the Islanders received a text message. It instructed them to gather around the fire pit.
"Islanders, Andrada and Ben are not the only ones to be dumped from the Island tonight. As you know, the public have been voting for who they think is the most compatible couple," the text revealed.
The couple with the most votes was Shakira and Ty. Soon, Islanders received more text messages, revealing yet another elimination from the villa.
A series of texts read:
"In no particular order, the couples who received the fewest votes and are also at risk of being dumped from the island tonight are Oren and Harrison, Emma and Connor, and Lucy and Tommy."
Soon, Shakira received a text stating that since she and Ty were the "most compatible couple," they would decide who would be eliminated. They were instructed to head to the mini fire pit to discuss which couple they wanted to dump.
After heading to the mini firepit, Love Island UK stars Shakira and Ty found themselves in a vulnerable situation. While he said it was not "easy," Shakira said:
"What the h*ll do I even do?"
As Ty said, Tommy was all about Lucy; Shakira said she didn't "buy" it. She felt as if Tommy was a "bit of a safe option" for her. As for Harrison, Ty said he seemed as if he still wanted to explore his connection with Toni. Then they discussed Conor and Emma.
"Bit difficult," said Ty.
The couple then reached their decision and went back to the main fire pit. Shakira revealed their decision, which was to dump Lucy and Tommy. Listening to Shakira and Ty's decision, fellow Islanders were surprised.
