Actor Kyle MacLachlan has expressed his desire to reprise his Desperate Housewives character. The actor is open to returning to Wisteria Lane.
The hit ABC mystery comedy-drama series ran from 2008 to 2012 and is about to get another spin-off based on the famous Wisteria Lane, the fictional street where the story was set.
Kyle MacLachlan played the role of Orson Hodge and debuted as Bree's love interest in season 2, who eventually became her second husband. MacLachlan's Orson became a main character in season 3 as it followed his first wife's disappearance.
Talking to People Magazine recently, the actor has expressed his desire to reprise his Desperate Housewives character:
“If for Desperate Housewives, if that were to come back — […] and if they would even want me to come back — I’d have to look at the role and kind of get a sense of what they’re thinking about for the character.''

Kyle MacLachlan opens up about his Desperate Housewives comeback
Banking on one of the most popular shows on ABC, Onyx Collective has geared up for a reimagining of the hit series, called Wisteria Lane, named after its popular fictional street.
A set of residents and friends will step up in this legendary location, with their perfect suburban lives, families, luxurious homes, and cars, until secrets and lies will plague their gorgeous lives.
Written by Natalie Chaidez, this Desperate Housewives reimagining comes from Kerry Washington‘s Simpson Street and 20th Television.
While Wisteria Lane is an altogether different reimagining of this classic series, we might see some old neighbors lurking behind the streets. Adding about how he will approach a Desperate Housewives reboot, MacLachlan added:
''I would approach it like if it were something completely new and weigh how I feel about the role, and the character, and the process and everything, you know? I would treat it like it were, you know, something else [new] that had come to me and make my judgment on that.”
While he passed on the Sex and the City reboot, the actor reprised his Twin Peaks character. Discussing his approach for the 2017 Twin Peaks reboot, MacLachlan discussed:
''[Creator David Lynch] decided to not really pick it up from where we left off and to create a completely different journey for the character. And I got to do a couple [of] different characters in the reboot.”
In addition to MacLachlan, Desperate Housewives also starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, Marcia Cross, Brenda Strong, and Eva Longoria.
It would surely be interesting to see Maclachlan back at Wisteria Lane with some of the new residents stepping into the show's universe.
