"Have you been in love before?": Love Island USA's Nic and Olandria reflect on their journey during their final date

Love Island USA Season 7 Episode 36 aired on July 13, 2025. The episode featured final dates between the finalist couples. It included Huda and Chris, Amaya and Bryan, Olandria and Nic, and Iris and Pepe.

During the final date between Nic and Olandria, they found notes about them, and how their connection has felt to the fans. While on their date, the two talked about their connection and how they had been around each other since the beginning.

While pouring drinks, Nic mentioned how their "stronger" connections left the villa, and after that, they were there, being a connection. He then asked Olandria if she had been in love before entering the villa.

"Have you been in love before?" asked Nic.

During their final date, Love Island USA couple Nic and Olandria talked about various things. They noted how their stronger connections had exited the villa, and then they found each other. He noted that, the connection they had was since they arrived in the villa, but didn't explored that.

He then asked Olandria if she had been in love.

"In the past, I fell in love with the potential, not the pattern. You fall in love with the potential of a person, like the, you know what I'm saying...how they can be in the future, and instead of what's in front of you. And I think that's what I did here in the villa too you know?" responded Olandria.

Learning about her definition of being in love, Love Island USA star Nic shared his side:

"For me, love is something that is a seed and like, you keep watering it, you keep watering it, and it grows and grows."

When Olandria asked Nic the same question, if he had ever been in love, he said:

"I feel like I was in love twice, and they say third time's the charm. They say, I think it's like...your third one is supposed to be the one. So going into the real world now, just taking my love plant and tryna see what...what it does on the outside."

Listening to him, Olandria added how he wants to "continue to water" the plant he was talking about. He added that he wanted to "keep on pacing" how they had been inside the villa. Olandria said that she loved the communication that they had between them.

Nic said he could see how she got it from her mother, and they recalled their family's visit to the villa. Olandria then revealed how none of her previous relationships had met her mom.

"And she really likes you," said Olandria.

While they were talking about their families and meeting them, Nic said he was excited for Olandria to meet his dad.
