Prime Video’s adult animated comedy series Hazbin Hotel closed its second season with a gripping finale, where the fragile balance between Heaven and Hell and the uneasy peace linking both realms teetered on the edge. The major antagonist, who disrupted the flow between the realms, was Vox, who was hungry for power and manipulated Carmilla Carmine into building a powerful weapon called "Might of Lilith" that could breach both Heaven and Pentagram City.

The stakes for Charlie Morningstar's mission (of redeeming sinners' souls) were in grave danger. However, a powerful move by the seraphim angel Emily turned the fates of the capital city forever. Emily has been a trusted ally to Charlie throughout the series, who shared her vision of redemption.

In the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 ending, one of Emily's wings was badly injured by Vox's weapon, but she continued to fight against the machine. While it looked like the angel would succumb, Emily does not die in the show and eventually saves Pentagram City and Heaven with Charlie and the other residents.

More on this in our story.

Emily emerged as the true star in the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 finale

The Hazbin Hotel Season 2 finale saw Vox's power-hungry plan and ambition come into full focus as he plans to breach Heaven through Carmilla Carmine's powerful weapon. The stakes were increased tenfold when Vox manipulated Carmilla into designing a weapon capable of destroying both Heaven and Hell, with Lucifer, the King of Hell, trapped inside the weapon.

Charlie, Emily and the rest of the hotel residents came forward to save Pentagram City and Heaven, devising a plan to convince Hell's sinners that redemption is possible. Once Vox's supporters in Heaven realize that redemption is actually possible, they will certainly rally against him and express their anger for snatching away their chance to get redeemed. Emily and Charlie were quick in their thinking and broadcast the evidence of Sir Pentious in Heaven, in hopes of destroying Vox's support in Heaven.

While this plan worked in the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 finale, with Val ripping off Vox's head from his body, the threat was far from over. Vox's weapon still loomed large and presented a danger to Pentagram City. To make matters worse, Emily was caught in the crossfire and was left wounded in one of her wings by Vox's weapon. While it looked like Emily would not survive, she still had fighting spirit left in her.

The final moments of the Hazbin Hotel Season 2 finale saw Emily combining the forces of Charlie, the Vees and all of Hell's sinners to destroy the weapon. She encouraged everyone to help and used this combined hope and unity to lift and move the machine to a safe distance, until it exploded away from the city and everyone was saved. Even Lucifer, who was trapped inside the machine, managed to get out alive but he was naturally in bad shape.

Emily held her bargain with Charlie and eventually helped her guard Pentagram City. Even after taking a wound on her wings, she fought with all her might and saved the Hotel and its residents.

Emily continued to remain a major supporting character in Charlie's quest to find a way for sinners to be redeemed. In the epilogue, she is seen with a golden prosthetic in the place of her wounded wing.

Her strong actions helped achieve peace between the two realms and she continues to be an angel, overseeing peace and harmony between Heaven and Hell. The Hazbin Hotel ending suggests that Emily will continue her role in Hazbin Hotel Season 3, sending gifts from Heaven and welcoming redeemed souls from Hell that will ascend to Heaven in the future.
