HBO has freshly dropped the first look images from Euphoria Season 3, stirring the excitement around its long-awaited return in 2026. The images are dedicated to one key character each: Rue played by Zendaya, Maddie played by Alexa Demie, Nate played by Jacob Elordi, and finally Jules played by Hunter Schafer.

The first-look images hint at the character-driven structure Sam Levinson has been shaping for the final season. The show first took off in 2019, quickly becoming a fan favorite. The show was highly praised by critics for its character-driven story, compelling performances, and thematic concerns of abuse, addiction, and survival.

Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, appears with a tensed expression, hinting at her arc getting involved in riskier territories. The ambient is out of focus, symbolically teasing that Rue’s life after high school is nowhere near stable.

The visual tone mirrors the teaser HBO recently debuted, where Rue reflects in voiceover about how adulthood hasn’t unfolded the way she imagined. That sense of emotional exhaustion is echoed in the shot.

After Zendaya, we get a glimpse of Jules, who appears to be relaxing on a couch. Maddie appears to be resting on a bed, and finally, Nate is seen vibing, holding a glass. All the characters hold their edge and appear in their usual characteristics.

Some time earlier this year, Levinson told The Hollywood Reporter that the characters are largely isolated this season, each navigating through their arcs and struggles. Rue is in Mexico and still entangled with Laurie.

One of the most interesting storylines revolves around Cassie, who got engaged to Nate and is consumed by social media obsession; Jules is at art school; Maddy is working in Hollywood; and Lexi is assisting a showrunner played by Sharon Stone.

Levinson had earlier shared,

"And then Cassie [Sweeney] is living in the suburbs with Nate [Elordi], they’re engaged, and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time. I feel strongly this is our best season yet… I will say that Cassie and Nate do, in fact, get married. I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night."

The final season also expands the cast with Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, and Marshawn Lynch. However, two talents won't be returning: Storm Reid and Barbie Ferreira are not returning.

With these first images now public, HBO has officially begun the rollout for a season that promises major shifts, new conflicts, and a stark reimagining of its characters’ futures. Euphoria Season 3 premieres in April 2026.

In an HBO Max presentation, Levinson shared about the time jump in Season 3,

"Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college, they’d be out of college at that time. We basically pick up Rue [Zendaya] south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie [Kelly], trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.
