Cho Yi-hyun's Head Over Heels took no time in becoming a fan-favorite K-drama of 2025, blending fantasy and romance. Unlike typical stories where the male lead protects the woman he loves, Yi-hyun’s Park Seong-ah, a young shaman and student, takes on the mission to save her first love.
Those who've been following the K-drama from Episode 1 know how well each actor has brought the characters to life. With only two episodes released each week, fans are finding it tough to wait, and now, it’s time to dive into another chapter.
Head Over Heels episode 8 will come out today, July 15, 2025, on the local channel, tvN. The K-drama follows the same release format every week, and it has been made accessible for international fans as well on Amazon Prime Video.
One interesting thing about this series is its inclusion of shamanism, a spiritual element that has recently gained popularity in K-dramas. We’ve seen hints of it in globally known shows like Squid Game, but also more directly in series like The Glory, Revenant, Alchemy of Souls, and The Cursed.

What happened in Head Over Heels Episode 7: A quick recap
Head Over Heels Episode 7 begins with Gyeon-u's possession of the haunted house. Due to his ill fate, Yeom-hwa made him a target and placed his picture inside the house, suggesting the evil spirit, Bong-su, to take control of Gyeon-u's body.
Her plane worked as Gyeon-u stepped on the doll, unaware that Bong-su had now possessed him. Seong-ah is shocked to see his transformation, as it's clear that he's not Gyeon-u anymore. The evil spirit misbehaves and asks Seong-ah to play hide and seek if she really wants to catch him.
Meanwhile, Ji-ho is confused about his changed behaviour, and Seong-ah tells him to stay away from Gyeon-u. Now in Gyeon-u's body, Bong-su runs away. He doesn’t remember anything, but he knows he wants to get to the school.
He then notices one of the students from his school being bullied. After saving him, he asks the student to tell him where the school is. However, the student is horrified and runs away. Soon after, Ji-ho finds Gyeon-u (who’s currently Bong-su), and the two head to the game zone.
Ji-ho is surprised by Gyeon-u’s strength, still unaware that it’s actually Bong-su inside Gyeon-u’s body. As the Head Over Heels episode continues, Bong-su starts to feel uneasy when he hears the sound of toy guns. The episode then shows glimpses from the past, hinting that Bong-su was once a young man in a battle.
Seong-ah finally finds him and begs Bong-su to leave Gyeon-u’s body. When he asks why, she reveals that Gyeon-u is her first love, and she needs to save him from the 21-day curse, and today is the final day.
But what Seong-ah doesn’t realize is that her human amulet is already working, and it was actually Gyeon-u she had confessed her feelings to. When Gyeon-u mentions that it's him, Seong-ah leaves her hand, allowing Bong-su to take over.
That’s when she realizes that as long as she’s touching Gyeon-u, Bong-su stays away. But the moment she lets go, Bong-su takes over again. This leads to some humorous moments in the episode, including a scene where Seong-ah and Gyeon-u have to sleep with their hands tied together.
Meanwhile, the Spirit Mother brings Yeom-hwa to the shrine, as she’s under a deadly curse. It’s revealed that this isn’t the first time the Spirit Mother has tried to help her, as Yeom-hwa has been cursed before as well.
The next morning, Bong-su manages to untie the knot and heads to school. The archery coach is startled by Gyeon-u’s strange behavior: he talks casually, kicks Ji-ho, and even forgets the coach’s name.
Bong-su lets Seong-ah hold his hand, allowing Gyeon-u to come through and reveal that they’ve made a deal. Gyeon-u will let Bong-su use his body at school, and in return, Bong-su will help him enter the archery competition.
The episode wraps up with a heartfelt moment: Gyeon-u finally confesses that he likes Seong-ah. He tells her he wants to protect her and reassures her that she doesn’t need to keep worrying or crying over him. Seong-ah is happy to learn that her crush liked her back and that they must defeat the evil.
What to expect from Head Over Heels Episode 8?
In today's episode of Head Over Heels, Viewers will learn more about Yeom-hwa and Spirit Mother's past. The episode will reveal the truth and why Spirit Mother abandoned Yeom-hwa, who can be heard saying, "You ditched me for being unclean", as a glimpse also features Yeom-hwa with a baby.
At the same time, Ji-ho, who already has a crush on Seong-ah, will feel jealous as he cannot see her hand tied to Gyeon-u all the time at school. Ji-ho will confront them, saying he couldn't find a way to separate them both.
And since Bong-su is still inside Gyeon-u's body, there will be humorous and dangerous moments for him. The episode is expected to be another ride packed with laughter, tension, and unexpected twists.
