Netflix's recent sci-fi series The Eternaut is the talk of the town nowadays. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%, the series is trending on the network's Top 10 charts in many countries and is a must-watch.

Based on popular Argentine comics by Héctor Germán Oesterheld, the story follows a fictional alien invasion in Buenos Aires. The aliens seek control of Earth through toxic snowfall that has wiped out all humanity.

The post-apocalyptic drama series is a gripping watch and the mysterious snowfall is paired with elements involving time travel, making it even more mind-bending.

The show has already been renewed for Season 2, and while you wait for the next season, here are three titles on Netflix that are equally apocalyptic and mind-bending.

Here are 3 TV shows on Netflix while you wait for The Eternaut.

3 TV shows to watch if you liked Netflix's The Eternaut

1) Dark

You have to be living under a rock if you have never heard about Netflix's German sci-fi show Dark, which debuted in 2017 and ran for three seasons. Hailed as the most mind-bending show ever made, Dark will change your perception about time travel and parallel realities.

Similar to The Eternaut, this German series also takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the remaining humanity is struggling to survive.

The time travel element in Netflix's latest is eerily similar to Dark. The main protagonists are stuck in an inevitable time loop, each forced to relive the harrowing events of the past and unable to save their family.

In The Eternaut, Juan Salvo is stuck in a complicated time loop, forced to relive the apocalypse and repeatedly lose his family. Similarly, in Dark, the time loop affects several generations of Jonas Kahnwald's family as he tries to escape.

2) The Rain

The Rain is a Danish sci-fi thriller on Netflix that debuted in 2018 and ran for three seasons. The series follows a small Scandinavian town where humanity has been wiped out by a virus spread through rainfall. Once the rain starts, it is too late to take shelter, and the surviving humanity is living in bunkers.

The Rain is the most similar show to The Eternaut on the list. Both shows use atmosphere as a deadly weapon. Just like the deadly snowfall that wiped out humanity in Buenos Aires in Netflix's latest, The Rain's main enemy is rainfall.

In addition to the post-apocalyptic world, both shows also explore genetically engineered viruses and expand on how outsiders try to take control of the land by sending a synthetically created virus to Earth.

3) Into the Night

Another mind-bending show in which atmosphere is the main enemy, Into the Night was Netflix's first Belgian-language series. It debuted in 2020 and ran for two seasons.

Based on a Polish novel, The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj, the show follows a handful of passengers on board a red-eye flight from Brussels, which is hijacked by an Italian NATO soldier. The hijacker claims that humanity on Earth is wiped out by a global event caused by the sun's rays, and this flight might be the last survivors.

Similar to The Eternaut, this Belgian series is even more intense as the passengers try to verify the hijacker's claims and escape the Sun. Season 2 follows the remaining survivors as they make their way to a NATO bunker in Bulgaria and try to save themselves from the toxic sunlight.
