High Potential Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Morgan unlocks Maya’s disappearance

High Potential Season 2 dives deep into the case of the Game Maker and his impact on Morgan’s life. Right after the appearance of the Game Maker in Morgan’s life, she finds it difficult to solve the case and find answers.

Protecting her children from danger becomes her first priority; however, she gets entangled in yet another case. Maya, a young woman whose disappearance creates quite some chaos in High Potential Season 2 Episode 1, sets the stage for further complications of the season.

Maya’s disappearance in High Potential Season 2 recap

Though initially Morgan did not think that Maya’s disappearance case would be related to the Game Maker, she soon realised that there is more to the case than meets the eye. The episode begins with Morgan stuck in her home with her children because of the threat of the gamemaker, when she gets entangled with Maya’s case.

During the investigation, Morgan finds out how Maya was forced inside the car as the items from Maya’s purse fell down on the street. Morgan’s mind races to understand the situation Maya faced. As the investigation progresses, Morgan and Adam visit Maya’s ex’s house to question; however, they realise that he is not involved in her disappearance.

On the other hand, the Game Maker’s presence is like a constant shadow in Morgan’s life, which she cannot seem to remove. Maya’s case gets further complicated when shopping bags from designer stores are found at her house, which she could not afford. Morgan dives deeper to find more about the situation by visiting a pawn shop to find out whether Maya sold any items there.

Her hunch is correct, as the pawn shop owner, who is initially reluctant to reveal the truth, eventually says that Maya was indeed a customer. However, he refuses to give up the items that Maya sold at the shop. Maya’s case then leads Morgan and Adam to CEO Jason Howard, who often gifted Maya expensive items. Jason also had a past with many sexual harassment cases.

Hence, there were many indications pointing to Jason being involved in Maya’s case. Jason revealed that Maya used his card to buy the handbags, for which he even confronted her, but eventually let it go. Things get further complicated as all the indications about Game Maker’s true identity point towards Jason. However, Morgan is way ahead of others and understands right away that Game Maker is using Jason to frame him.

At Jason’s house, Adam finds Maya’s bracelet in Jason’s pool, which directly indicates that Jason was somehow related to the case. The police then arrested Jason. Game Maker’s involvement in Maya’s case adds a layer of intrigue, making us wonder what his true intentions were with Maya and Jason.

High Potential Season 2 episode 1 ends with many questions. This episode also shines with Morgan’s genius and how she is able to maintain pace with Game Maker’s plans. Game Maker is using everyone around her as a pawn in this game.

This aspect of mysteries and secrets makes the series such an intriguing one to watch. The episode ends with a shocking twist. At the end of High Potential Season 2 Episode 1, The Game Maker walks inside the police station right in front of Morgan. It will be interesting to see how the story progresses from here on.
