Crime thriller fans will have an extra gala time in July as the critically acclaimed Starz show Hightown has been made available for streaming on Netflix. All three seasons of the Monica Raymund starrer were added to the streamer on July 23, 2025, and are now available to binge.
Hightown initially premiered on Starz in 2020 and ran for three seasons, with the finale airing in 2024. However, within days of the show being conceded, it was removed from the platform, and till it's available on Netflix, the series remained unavailable to stream for almost a year.
Hightown has found a new home on Netflix
Created by Rebecca Cutter, the official synopsis of Hightown, as per Rotten Tomatoes, mentions
“Jackie Quiñones, a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent, has her life thrown into disarray when she gets tasked with investigating serious crimes in her popular beach community. As if battling criminals isn't hard enough, Jackie walks the tightrope of sobriety as she tries to stay above a pool of secrets, betrayal and shame from her past.”
The synopsis further adds,
“She becomes at odds with Sgt. Ray Abruzzo, an abrasive but effective member of the Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit, until he becomes disgraced and is taken off the force as they both spiral from the stress of their investigations.”
With an intense plotline like this, the series is captained by Monica Raymund and James Badge Dale, along with other cast members like Riley Voelkel, Atkins Estimond, Dohn Norwood, Shane Harper, and Amaury Nolasco.
While the series does play with the established tropes of this genre, what stands out is the performance of the cast and the tension that is maintained throughout the seasons. The arcs of the various characters have been dealt with a lot of attentive details, which further adds to the brilliance of the story.
Another point that works in favor of the series is its location. Set in a gloomy setting, the location of the cape goes perfectly with the brooding and serious theme of the show.
Hightown seasons 1, 2, and 3 consist of 8, 10, and 7 episodes, respectively, and all of them are now available on Netflix. The show had received praise from critics and audiences alike, and now that it is available for streaming on the platform, it remains to be seen how well it performs there.
Since the series is now available exclusively on Netflix, viewers will need an active subscription to the streamer to enjoy all the seasons. Netflix offers several subscription plans, including,
- Standard with Ads plan at $7.99 per month
- Standard plan (ad-free) at $17.99 per month
- Premium plan at $24.99 per month
Having access to any one of the subscription plans will not give viewers access to this series, but will also offer them the massive library of content that is available on Netflix.
All three seasons of Hightown are streaming on Netflix.
