The interview with Variety is titled 'Does George Clooney Know His Lines?'. So, when he was presented with a line from the animated series, the Hollywood star immediately recognized it. The line is of his character Dr. Horatio Gauche, which says:

"We accidentally replaced your heart with a baked potato. You have about three seconds to live."

Then, Clooney begins talking about his journey with South Park. He begins by talking about the fact that he had watched the short film The Spirit of Christmas. At first, he was brought on board to play Sparky, the Gay Dog in the series. Funnily enough, all he did was bark, as he shares:

"I'd seen 'The spirit of Christmas' video. And then when the show got picked up, they called me and the first thing they asked me to do was play 'Sparky, the Gay Dog'. And they recorded me and they just had me bark."

Just after saying that, the actor lets out a laugh. Furthermore, he mentions that his association with the series expanded as he worked with them in the movie too. He continues:

"And then they called me and asked me to do the movie with them and it was a really fun time."

The episode 'Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride' from Season 1, follows the plot of Stan, who comes to know that his dog Sparky is gay. The episode, with the usage of caricatures and tropes, explores themes of LGBTQIA+ and queer acceptance.

In the film, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, the plot critiques censorship and hypocrisy prevalent in American society. It all begins when the boys view an adult film, which makes their parents furious with rage. The consequences take a catastrophic shape as a war begins in Canada as a result.

In the film, Clooney's character Dr. Horatio Gauche is a child therapist who makes the parents believe that Philip and Terrance are ruining the children's minds. Later, we come to know that Dr. Gauche is none other than Saddam Hussein!

On the whole, South Park is a highly popular animated series that uses satire and smutty humor to make a political commentary on society.
