Mike Holmes Jr. took the Make It Right website and shared "Mike's Advice" on February 28, 2025. It included questions that Holmes Family Rescue is often asked. It included many questions regarding payment, who pays for renovations, and other related matters.

Mike talked about how he often gets asked if the show has a "script." For that, he mentioned that the show was "unscripted." He mentioned that sometimes they have a "rough beat sheet."

"Sometimes there is a rough beat sheet we’ll create just to try and keep everyone on the production crew and the construction crew on the same page but no script. We talk pretty freely on site when cameras are rolling," he mentioned.

Talking about the time it takes for the renovation, Holmes Family Rescue's Mike said it varies depending on the project. It could take from a month to six months for each project to get completed. He stated that for their Holmes: Next Generation, they often have works that have a "smaller scope."

For their various shows, Mike also answered questions regarding who pays for the repairs for the renovation.

"This is a question we get a lot, and the answer varies from show to show and even from project to project. Sometimes the network helps cover some of the costs through their sponsorships," answered Mike.

Additionally, Holmes Family Rescue star Mike also stated that sometimes they have suppliers and partners who also donate some of the products. They also sometimes help out with the work, depending on their schedule. He recalled one of the renovations and said, for Jake (the teenager who had a critical illness), everything that was used for the renovation was donated and sourced.

In a Facebook post shared by Holmes Family Rescue star on May 11, 2024, he shared the most asked questions and also answered them. He mentioned that they are often asked about who pays for the materials while they are helping homeowners with the repairs.

Answering that, Mike wrote:

"Sometimes our wonderful trades and suppliers and product partners step up to donate materials, products and even their own time."
