Did Quinn help stop the attack?

Homeland created one of its most tense moments as Carrie and Saul rushed to find Quinn after finding information about a deadly sarin gas in Berlin. Doctors had warned that waking Quinn from his coma could kill him because of his severe injuries. An MRI had confirmed his brain damage was serious and left little hope.

However, Carrie and Saul took a chance and attempted to elicit responses from him. Quinn had trouble speaking and quickly had respiratory failure. The doctors saved him, but he didn't provide the required information. Carrie was driven to find another way to stop the terrorists before calamity struck, since time was running out.

Homeland took a dark turn as Allison Carr followed a brutal order from Russian handlers. She was told to kill Dr. Aziz, a professor who knew details about the planned attack. Viewers saw that Allison felt torn because she understood that innocent lives were at risk, but her handlers made it clear that Russia wanted the attack to succeed.

She met with Aziz and carried out a violent interrogation. She killed her own guard with his gun and then shot the professor after getting the information. She shot herself and lied to Saul to cover her tracks, sending authorities toward the airport.

Real target of the attack

The tension in Homeland increased as Carrie tried to figure out who had assisted Quinn after he was shot. She went to see Hezbollah commander Al Amin and requested his advice. Reluctantly, he directed her to Dr. Hussein, a physician on the black market. Carrie followed Hussein to an apartment that had been a terrorist base.

She found plans, metro maps, and models of the Hauptbahnhof train station within. Carrie soon discovered that the airport was not the primary aim, but rather the station. She grabbed a photo of Qasim, one of the terrorists, and rushed to the Hauptbahnhof.

At the crowded station, she spotted Qasim and followed him into the subway tunnels. Desperate to warn Saul, she asked people above ground to send a text message. The scene showed Carrie relying on her sharp instinct and determination to stop disaster in the final moments before the attack began.
