Expedition X Season 10 premiered on August 20, 2025. The first episode of the show, titled, Secrets of Spike Island featured Josh Gates and Heather Amaro exploring Ireland.
The two went to investigate Ireland's most brutal prison, located in Spike Island. The two came across some paranormal claims. Hence, they decided to go and explore the place.
The two went to one of the cells and decided to see if there was anything paranormal. For that, they had an Ouija board. Josh and Heather decided to move ahead with the plan, as the Expedition X host Josh said:
"We know there were prisoners in this room using homemade spirit boards, and that they contacted something. Isn't that why we're here, trying to figure out what's in this room?"
Expedition X Season 10 Episode 1: Josh and Heather go on checking paranormal claims in one of the cells
Recently released Expedition X Season 10's first episode saw Josh Gates and Heather Amaro exploring Ireland's "most brutal" prison. The two were there after they came across shocking claims from former inmates and some of the visitors. They involved some paranormal activities.
Hence, to explore what was going on, the two went there and decided to use the Ouija board. They also talked about homemade Ouija boards, which prisoners were using to contact the spirits. However, Heather mentioned that they should be "extremely careful" while doing that.
Before getting started, Heather said that the most important thing was to "close" their session after they're done.
She didn't want to repeat anything or make mistakes. She explained to Josh what they would be doing.
"The most important detail is when we are done, we have to close the session down. We are not gonna do what these prisoners potentially may have done, and left something open. We moved the planchette to goodbye, we say goodbye, and then we remove the planchette from the board," said Heather.
Soon, the two got started with their plan, and both placed their fingers on the planchette. To their surprise, it started to move to "Yes" when she asked if there was anyone with them. Josh asked if the spirit wanted to communicate with them. Again, the planchette moved to yes.
Expedition X host Josh and Heather asked each other if they were moving the planchette. But they both told each other that it was not them.
"I'm not pushing you either," said Josh.
He then asked if this was the same spirit from the window, but the planchette moved to No. He asked if the spirit was a prisoner there. The planchette moved to digit 4.
"When you were a prisoner here, did you use a spirit board like this? And did that spirit board work?"
The planchette moved to HELL letters on the board. When Josh asked the spirit if they wanted to tell anything, the planchette moved to letters RUN. Both of them were shocked after they heard a loud noise from outside the cell.
