How did Samuel die in House of David Season 2?

Understanding that Samuel is on his path to reach David, King Saul decides to march towards him with all of his army. Seeing Samuel stopping their way, King Saul points out that Samuel cursed his men just as he had cursed him. Samuel, however, admits that he did no such thing. Saul warns Samuel that he has a thousand men with him.

Saul’s words do not scare Samuel. He is ready to face them all alone. Seeing that Samuel is not moving from his way, Saul decides to strike him with his sword. Before his sword even touches Samuel, he stops and begins to writhe in pain. Samuel does not need physical power. His strength lies in being the seer. With his power, Saul and all of his men begin to get hallucinations. Saul tries to vehemently fight against Samuel’s powers.

Samuel’s words, “God is not mocked”, create yet another surge of power, which makes all of Saul’s men fall down on the ground. Earlier in this episode of House of David Season 2, while discussing Saul with David, Samuel spoke about his relationship withaul. He noted that Saul is like a son to him. However, in this moment, when he sees Saul writhing in pain, fighting against him, he tells him that he will not mourn him.

He regrets the man Saul has become because of his vehement greed and desire for power. Though Samuel’s power singlehandedly disarms all of Saul’s men, it can be understood that it also causes an impact on him. Samuel begins to tremble while putting Saul under his magic spell.

Through Samuel’s power, he wants Sul to understand his fault. However, instead of understanding his mistake, Saul keeps on fighting against his fate. He keeps on saying that he controls his own fate and would not accept anything else. Right then, Samuel shows Saul a vision of his crown on David. He forces Saul to say David’s name. It takes immense power from Samuel, which weakens him, leading to his death.

House of David Season 2 depicts Samuel's death in a distinct poetic manner. The visuals, along with the dialogue, form a breathtaking scene. The series perfectly captures Samuel’s powers and his desire to do the right thing till the very end.

He tried his best to show Saul about his wrongdoings. Through these visions, he wanted to help Saul choose the right path. However, Saul’s hunger for power blinded him. He did not want to see the truth.

House of David Season 2 ends with David finally getting the support of Eliab. Eliab finds him in the woods. He tells David that he is ready to serve him. On the other hand, the King of Edom’s arrival at Saul’s court also creates quite some intrigue, especially considering his manipulative nature.
