Louise Partridge is set to appear in a new Steven Knight historical drama called House of Guinness, set in 19th-century Dublin and New York. The Netflix series will focus on a more legitimate family business- the Guinness brewery.
The extraordinary success of the brewery made the Guinness family one of the most famous and enduring families. However, after the death of the business's head, Sir Benjamin Guinness, the business and the lives and fates of his four adult children are completely turned around because of his will.
Louis Partridge is set to take on the role of Edward Guinness in House of Guinness, which he says is the biggest role of his life so far.
Louis Partridge thinks his role in Netflix's House of Guinness is one of his biggest roles so far
Louis Partridge's role as Viscount Tweakesbury in the Netflix hit Enola Holmes, starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown, was his breakout role. Since then, the actor has been on an upward trajectory.
Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, House of Guinness is a mix of Succession and Peaky Blinders.
The official synopsis reads:
"the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur (Boyle), Edward (Partridge), Anne (Fairn) and Ben (O’Shea), as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness."
According to Partridge, his role as Edward is one of his most significant and distinct from the other roles he has played and is known for.
Partridge explains that he has mainly appeared in the past as irresponsible characters who throw caution to the wind, such as Enola Holmes' Viscount, or his newest role in Netflix's Pride and Prejudice adaptation as George Wickham. He said in an interview with Variety,
quite a straight, sober character (Edward in House of Guinness), trying to keep everything in check — and usually I’m a bit more irresponsible in the roles I play and throw caution to the wind. So it did feel like something quite new for me.
However, this time for the House of Guinness, Partridge is taking on a role that is completely different from his previous ones. This time, his character is a straightforward and sober person who is responsible and tries to keep everything in check.
Nonetheless, it won't be long before we see Partridge back in his usual irresponsible role with Netflix's Pride and Prejudice, where he plays George Wickham, and in Enola Holmes Season 3 as the Viscount, which was also shot earlier this year.
