How did Cal Thresher get Armand to work for him in Tulsa King Season 2? Details explored

Armand’s situation in Tulsa King Season 2 has not been an easy one. It seems after the events of season 1, Armand’s life is going on a downward spiral, and there is no stopping it in Tulsa King Season 2. The second season shows that Armand’s economic situation has worsened, and he has no other choice but to get help from Cal Thresher.

In the first season, we see that Armand is trying to make a comeback, and viewers had immense expectations from his character as well in this regard. However, things were not turning well for him. Cal Thresher wittily uses Armand’s vulnerable economic situation to his benefit. The money Cal gives Armand ends up becoming his biggest leverage.

Cal Thresher uses Armand for his benefit in Tulsa King Season 2

After facing one setback after another, from losing money to losing his wife, Armand’s life was hitting rock bottom. This situation was perfectly used by Cal Thresher, who makes Armand work as a mole and bring information about Dwight's workings.

Armand was emotionally distraught after his wife refused to keep any connection with him, which we see in Season 2 episode 8. He tries to reconcile with her but is refused. On top of this situation, his financial situation pushes him to the brink.

This led him to make poor decisions for which he suffers significantly in Tulsa King Season 2. He not only joins hands with Cal Thresher but also takes it to the next level by robbing Dwight.

Though in the end, Armand realises his mistake and refuses to run anymore. He decides to surrender himself to Dwight for his activities. It cannot be denied that Armand’s character possessed immense potential, which the series could have explored instead of making him just a betrayer at the end of Tulsa King Season 2.

Armand’s betrayal of Dwight escalates the complications with Dwight’s crew. Cal Thresher’s method of getting Armand to work for him showed his ability to leverage a man’s personal problems against him. Armand, in the end, gets caught in the middle and ends up becoming a tragic figure.

After Armand's actions, Dwight had every right to take action against Armand for his betrayal. However, in the end, he forgives Armand and lets him live. It will be intriguing to see how the story progresses after the incidents of Tulsa King Season 2. The third season of Tulsa King is already set to release on September 21, 2025.

Hence, we do not have to wait much longer to see how the story unfolds after the last season. The time for the release is 3 A.M. E.T. The series will be available for streaming on Paramount+. This upcoming season will have some new faces as well.
