Both the families are neighbors on Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side.
Other important characters are Bertha Russell (Coon), who is the matriarch of the Russell family and she is determined to use her money and status to break into the rigid polite society and the upper circles of New York City. Apart from Coon, other cast members include Morgan Spector, Simon James, Jack Gilpin, and others.
The Gilded Age has received critical and commercial acclaim for its writing, costumes, and performances. The show tackles themes like the conflicts between old and new money at the turn of the 20th century and the rise of the African-American upper class. It also shows the rise of organized labor.
With three seasons released till now, where every season had lots of twists and turns, The Gilded Age Season 4 will also have a lot of exciting plot points. Especially since Gladys Russell’s character has a lot of potential.
The Gilded Age: Details about Gladys Russell and how her character might develop in Season 4

During the third season of the show, Glady gets married into British nobility due to the pressure of her mother, Bertha Russell. Before this point, Gladys had been a secondary character. She did have a fling with Billy Carlton, but Bertha quickly made it die down and got her daughter married into royalty.
As the lady of a house, Gladys now has much more power and she is no longer trapped in a cage by her parents. Therefore, Gladys’ choices in Season 3 are a gateway to her character becoming more confident in The Gilded Age Season 4.
Gladys’ character is inspired by the real-life Consuelo Vanderbilt, who was from New York and married to a Duke. In the show, Gladys might have been forcefully married off, but she now wields individual power and status and has a caring husband who supports her. Therefore, according to CBR, her character will grow and might even challenge Bertha’s authority.
The pregnancy of Gladys and how it can change things in The Gilded Age

Further, Gladys is also pregnant and towards the end of Season 3, George leaves Bertha over simmering tensions and as Bertha watches him leave, Gladys and her pregnancy could add another dimension to the Russell family drama.
While Gladys is able to tell Bertha that she is pregnant, she is unable to share the good news with her father, and this missed opportunity could become a point of tension between Bertha and George. Especially since George is facing problems due to the industrial competition for his railroad project.
Season 4 could have plenty of twists and turns as George and Betha’s romantic relationship might suffer and there could also be problems between Gladys and the Duke over the upbringing of the child.
Therefore, the new season of The Gilded Age will have a lot of new drama and twists and turns.
The show is available on HBO Max.
