Reasonable Doubt recently returned with its third season. The critically acclaimed series is once again entertaining the audience with its soapy twists, captivating narrative, and stellar performances.

The show revolves around Jax Stewart, a criminal defense lawyer who works on various challenging cases and also faces troubles in her personal life. Now that the show has aired three seasons, fans are wondering how long it will last.

Series creator Raamla has now talked about the future of the show in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Raamla said that she might be making five seasons of Reasonable Doubt. Though the plan has not been finalized yet, she does not want the show to continue after its prime.

Raamla Mohamed talks about Reasonable Doubt’s future after Season 3

During the interview, Raamla Mohamed said that she initially thought of making four seasons of Reasonable Doubt. However, as the series has progressed she is now considering concluding the show after five seasons:

“I don’t know about forever (laughs). At first, I thought maybe four seasons, but then it changes. Things evolve and I’m like, maybe five.”

Mohamed added that she is still not completely sure about the future of the legal drama, but she does not want to continue the show just for the heck of it, which will lead to some lackluster seasons that do not impress the audience. Giving an example of HBO’s Succession, she said:

“I’m not really sure. I know I don’t want to push it past its time. Succession did such a great job where it ended, you still wanted more, but you were like, what a great series. I never want people to feel like, ‘They should end this. It’s not good anymore.’”

However, the creator also added that there are shows like The Chi, which have aired seven seasons and continue to feel fresh due to their different characters and stories. Talking about how Reasonable Doubt could also take a similar route, Mohamed said:

“But I look at shows like The Chi and what Lena Waithe has done and how that show has a different life with different characters, so you never know. I’m sure if you asked Lena years ago, she was probably like, “No, I can’t see it going to season eight,” but now here we are and the show’s bigger than ever. So I like to say that I feel like God will tell me when it’s over and it’s time to go.”

Reasonable Doubt Season 3 premiered on Hulu on September 18, 2025, and releases new episodes weekly on Thursdays. In the new installment, Jax has to deal with the case of former child star Ozzie.

The show stars Emayatzy Corinealdi as Jacqueline "Jax" Stewart, Tim Jo as Daniel Kim, Thaddeus J. Mixson as Spenser Stewart, McKinley Freeman as Lewis Stewart, Angela Grovey as Krystal Walters, Aderinsola Olabode as Naima Stewart, Morris Chestnut as Corey Cash, and Joseph Sikora as Bill Sterling.
