The world of the show is gritty with a meticulously woven plot, gradually building suspense for what lies on the other side that has caused such a catastrophe. According to reports, the show has been filmed in over 35 real locations across Buenos Aires and more than 25 sensitively designed virtual production stages. This combination of virtual and practical effects helped the makers bring out the eerie and post-apocalyptic world they wanted to portray.

While the original comic focused more on Salvo and his companions banding together to survive and fight alien forces, the Netflix adaptation reimagines him as a father driven by love and loss, adding a powerful human layer to the story. Juan is shown all geared up with a gas mask and suit to survive the toxic, contaminated environment. The character is played by Ricardo Darín.

Alongside Darin, there is Carla Peterson as Blondi, César Troncoso as Yosi, who is portrayed as a spy and Andrea Pietra as Estela Castro. Marcelo Subiotto will appear as Puan, and Claudio Martínez Bel will be seen as Rojo, completing the ensemble of the brilliant cast.
