The Angel Dust curveball at the end of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 has been building up for a while and ended up being quite a kicker for these characters and their perception of reality. While the second season mostly focused on Charlie and Vox, season 3 will be a little different. According to creator Vivienne Medrano, the implications of Angel Dust's reality and his subsequent actions will be one of the main focuses of Hazbin Hotel Season 3.

In a recent conversation with Collider, Medrano opened up about Angel's storyline this season. Medrano talks about why this reveal was important for the characters as well as for the overall storyline in Hazbin Hotel:

"The point of the reveal is partially to remind him and the audience that he is in this horrible situation that even the good parts of the hotel can't free him from. I think that was kind of why I felt like it was overall necessary."

Medrano explained that the thought behind this narrative was to properly explore the multiple aspects of abuse, the control it holds over one, and the importance of a safe space:

"It shows the kind of thing that can happen when you're in an abusive relationship. You can have a really good, safe space, but there are still ways for that abuser to find you and have control of you if you are not out of that situation."

Medrano finally went on to explain that the third season of Hazbin Hotel will focus a lot on Angel's situation and the fact that Husk is the one most deeply affected by Angel's decision:

"Season 3 is a lot about Angel and about his situation. And also about Husk and the fact that Husk is a character that's really grown to care about Angel, and that’s a really hard position because we already know through ‘Loser Baby’ that they have a lot of connection with each other, and they're both in a situation that's very similar."

She added that the narrative will also shine a lot of light on the similarities and differences in Angel and Husk's situations despite both being subjected to abuse:

"At least Alastor has his own agenda. Husk is just there to help him achieve it here and there. But with Valentino, it's like Angel is this thing that he wants to lord over, and he wants control over, and he wants to control and use and hurt, and that's the difference. And I think there's an element that I'm excited for people to see us explore of Husk being in this position where he's just realizing how much more different Angel’s situation is from him."

All this to say that Medrano has all but confirmed that Hazbin Hotel Season 3 is set to be the most emotionally driven season in the show so far.
