Wonder Man is about a struggling actor named Simon Williams (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who is trying to get a role in a superhero remake. He eventually ends up getting the superpowers. His superpowers include superhuman speed, strength, and agility. He is also durable against everything and can create big explosions.

The superhero is also able to manipulate electromagnetic and ionic energies. He is virtually invulnerable to most things. Other superpowers include self-sustenance, power recycling, teleportation, size alteration, flying ability, and energy-enhanced strikes.

Wonder Man's showrunner is Andrew Guest, while Family Owned and Onyx Collective are the producers. Its executive producers include Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Destin Daniel Cretton, and the showrunner himself. The cast members include

  • Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man
  • Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery
  • Arian Moayed as P. Cleary
  • Ed Harris as Neal Saroyan
  • X Mayo
  • Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak
  • Olivia Thirlby
  • Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis, aka Doorman

At the NYCC 2025, Yahya spoke about the series. He said,

“I think the coolest thing to me is that it doesn’t feel like it’s about superheroes. To me, it feels like it’s about ambition, friendship, and dreams. I think just the idea of Simon being a guy who has something, who feels like he has something to offer."

He further spoke about the character's relatability.

"He feels like he’s in this really big world with a really big talent that nobody knows about, and I think that’s the very relatable thing is being ambitious and going after your dreams. We get to tell that story, do it in a clever and fun way with some attitude, and hide it in this infrastructure, the world of Marvel. So, it’s really cool to be a part of something like that.”

The series focuses on a guy who gets superpowers while trying to bag a lead role in a superhero film. But he has to hide his abilities because the fictional MCU looks down upon them.

Ben Kingsley added,

"It has pathos, it has sadness, it has vulnerability, it has hilarious comic moments, it has satire, it has irony. How many levels does this show have?"

All eight episodes will premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. It's a part of the MCU's Phase Six under the banner of Marvel Spotlight.
