Howard Stern, in the latest episode on his SiriusXM radio show, joined this list of celebrities publicly condemning this move by Disney:

"As you know, ABC threw Jimmy [Kimmel] off the air,” Stern said. “I don’t know what their plan is, but it looks like they might be firing him. And then I read sometimes that they’re not gonna fire him. I don’t know. I have spoken to Jimmy. I didn’t ask him these questions, I just asked him how he was doing personally. "

He went on to add:

"I just know when the government begins to interfere, when the government says, ‘I’m not pleased with you, so we’re gonna orchestrate a way to silence you,’ it’s the wrong direction for our country."

He emphasized the enormity of the situation and explained how, even though the networks should not be forced into such a position as Disney and ABC, there needs to be somebody who stands up to such actions:

"now ABC is put in the same position and it’s unfortunate that ABC even has to be in this position,” Stern continued. “They shouldn’t have to be in this position. I feel for them too, in this. But someone’s gotta step up and fucking say, ‘Hey, enough, we’re not gonna bow.’ "

Stern then went on to reveal the small contribution he has decided to make to the cause by cancelling his Disney+ subscription:

"Now it might sound stupid, but the thing I did this morning, I’m canceling my Disney+. I’m trying to say with the pocketbook that I do not support what they’re doing with Jimmy."

Carr's statements were followed by the affiliate owners Sinclair and Nexstar's public announcements that they would preempt the show.

ABC and Disney's move to cancel Jimmy Kimmel's show is being subjected to a lot of condemnation by high-profile celebrities and politicians.
