I absolutely hate the current format of Jeopardy! Masters, and you will too

Jeopardy! Masters started as a celebration of the show's ultimate champions. With high-stakes competitions and exciting questions, however, the tournament's format became quite boring as time passed.

With a growing audience, the show's format lacks viewer engagement and excitement factors. Additionally, Jeopardy! Master's scoring system seems repetitive and doesn't excite the existing fan base.

For those who are new fans of Jeopardy! Masters might find the show's point-based scoring system quite difficult to understand and boring to follow up. It often results in viewers' lack of interest in keeping up with the updated scores in different rounds.

The show makers need to introduce an updated format with innovative categories and a creative structure. The format of such a high-stakes competition is supposed to keep the viewers engaged and on the edge. The interest should be able to keep the fans keen on knowing the next question, its possible answers, and who will win.

Jeopardy! Masters: It truly needs a format update with exciting rounds and a creative structure

As Jeopardy! fans already know how Jeopardy! Masters is all about competing champions of the show against each other, and seeing who wins. While witnessing champions such as Amy Schneider and Matt Amodio is an absolute treat, the show's format somehow falls short in keeping up the audience's interest.

Having top-tier champions competing on such a stage is surely a treat for the viewers, but it sometimes becomes monotonous and boring. While talking about the update in the show's format, Jeopardy! Masters did update a few things.

However, with their updated version, where viewers get to witness the Daily Doubles' location before the participants uncover it, it didn't work out well. While it was supposed to create a layer of suspense, it didn't do justice to that at all. Additional new features, such as Battleship, also didn't span as they were supposed to.

For the finale's structure, a single episode consisting of two games has not been well received by the audience. Such a competition show, with high stakes and scores that matter, having a suspenseful build-up is a must. However, the show fails to provide what which fails to keeps viewers engaged.

With the currently running season of Jeopardy! Masters, there are too many complex things, including repetitive elements, scoring format, and the same categories. To attract more viewers and get existing fans invested more in the competition, the show desperately needs to update, not just a few, but many things.

To do that, removing redundancies and switching from the complex scoring structure to a simpler version would be a start. For the new viewers and longtime fans, even small elements associated with the show make a huge difference.

Additionally, inviting format champions on the show, not to compete, but to share their experience on the show, would also be a good start. They can offer tips and more of their experience with the new champions and guide them.

Fans can stream Jeopardy! Masters Season 3 on NBC.
