TLC's 90 Day Fiancé Season 11 features Sarper Güven and Shekinah Garner among the cast members. Fans who already know the couple might know about their participation in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Seasons 5 and 6. Over the years, Sarper has been unable to build a good relationship with Shekinah's family, especially her sisters.
The most recent incident was when Sarper again met his fiancée Shekinah's family during 90 Day Fiancé Season 11 Episode 10. Before arriving to meet her family, the male cast member could be seen visibly uncomfortable and nervous.
It is probably because of his relationship with her family, which has not improved over the years. Seeing how Sarper has now been with Shekinah, he needs to change his behavior, including presenting himself better. 90 Day Fiancé Season 11: Sarper should work on himself, especially in presenting himself
Recent 90 Day Fiancé Season 11 Episode 10 aired on April 20, 2025, featuring yet another meeting between Sarper and Shekinah's family. Before meeting them, Sarper knew he had a "bad reputation" for himself because of his past interactions. The couple talked about how her family thought he was a "jerk", which Shekinah mentioned that Sarper:
"Kind of fit the bill."
Somewhere, Shekinah also knows that her fiancé has a lot to prove in building a good relationship with her family. While she was concerned, she told Sarper, it was:
"Because of your own actions, ways you've chosen to live your life and things you've chosen to do to me in our relationship, it's your own fault."
He also knew that. The 90 Day Fiancé's female cast member also confessed to the cameras about her sisters holding a "grudge" against Sarper. It was from Sarper's first meeting with one of her sisters, Shariyah. She added that it might be because of her sister being "very protective" of her.
On the other hand, Shekinah's sister Shariyah also confessed to the cameras:
"I feel like the amount of time that I had with Shekinah and Sarper, I didn't really get to see the dynamic and the connection between them. So it'll be nice to see if anything's different."
Even though things about Sarper's past and behavior have been alarming for Shekinah's sister, she was ready to see if there had been any developments between her sister, Shekinah, and her fiancé, Sarper.
Sarper's past with multiple women has been one of the points that not only Shekinah but her family has had an issue with. As the couple reached, Shekinah's sisters inquired about Sarper's past. Even though he stated he was no longer in touch with any other female, they had concerns.
However, 90 Day Fiancé's Shekinah took his side as she said:
"It takes a level of trust...and that's what relationships are about. I mean, if I had no trust in Sarper, what would be the point of me even being with him?"
One of Shekinah's sisters, Zionah, was not happy about that. She felt that Shekinah was being "naive." While everything was happening, Sarper asked if Shekinah's sisters, like herself, gave "geisha vibes." By that, he meant how Shekinah does "everything." He meant cooking, washing, and "everything."
Again, taking his side and clarifying what he meant, Shekinah jumped to take his side:
"He's just saying that I serve him and he doesn't have to ask for it, and he loves that. And that's like geisha vibes."
Shekinah's sister Shariyah confessed to the cameras that Sarper "really rubs" the wrong way and couldn't "help himself." Deep down, Sarper also knew things were not going well for him. He confessed to feeling the "tension." If he had been better at working on himself and presenting himself well, such situations might have been avoided altogether.
