Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 2 has arrived on Disney+. While the show is following a weekly release schedule on Disney Channel, all 10 episodes were dropped on Disney+ on October 8, 2025.

The season ended with a cliffhanger that has left the audience asking for more. While the show has not been officially renewed for a third season, lead actor David Henrie has teased that the creators already have plans to continue the series.

In an interview with Deadline, Henrie talked about what to expect from a potential Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3. The actor revealed that the next chapter will deal with some important themes that have been set up directly by the Season 2 finale, and he cannot wait for the audience to see what happens next:

“[In] Season 3, [we] are really going to lean into the questions of identity, belonging, legacy, universal questions that will really come to the forefront at the end of the season, which I can’t wait for people to see.”

David Henrie teases Selena Gomez’s role in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3

During the interview, David Henrie further teased that Selena Gomez’s character Alex would have a bigger role to play in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 after making cameos in the first two seasons. One major question that audiences have is how Billie is related to Alex, and the upcoming season might finally address their connection. Henrie said:

“We end this season on the biggest cliffhanger the wizards universe has ever known. So what energizes me is to explore the questions that we provoke at the end of the season — very big ones, some questions that really speak to the overarching lore of the show, especially Selena’s character. So I’m really excited to explore those thoughts and ideas into this next season.”

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place serves as a sequel to Wizards of Waverly Place. The show revolves around Justin, played by David Henrie, who has given up on magic and lives a normal life with his wife and kids until his sister arrives at his home and requests he train a magical child, Billie, who is destined to save the world.

In the second season, Justin’s sons, Roman and Milo, also get magical powers, and the three kids begin training together for the family wizard competition. The plot is a callback to the original series, in which siblings Justin, Alex, and Max prepared for the competition, with Alex eventually winning and keeping her powers.

Apart from David Henrie, the show stars Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo, and Taylor Cora as Winter. Selena Gomez makes guest appearances in the show as Alex Russo.

Other cast members include Recker Eans as Quentin, Kirsten Vangsness as Minister Bigelow McFigglehorn, Oscar Montoya as Marcus, Sarrie Thompson as Iggy, Patrick Bristow as Wizardpedia, and Eleanor Sweeney as Bella Bianchi.
