Love Island USA fans watched one of Season 7’s most surprising exits when Hannah Fields was voted out by her fellow Islanders, despite having just built a promising connection with newcomer Pepe Garcia. The Peacock series, famous for daily twists and public vote dumpings, left viewers (and Hannah herself) puzzled as Iris Kendall and Amaya Espinal were saved instead.

Since leaving the villa, the 22‑year‑old Nebraska native has been catching up on the outside world, talking through the shock, and weighing what comes next for her Love Island USA journey.

“I got zero clarity, and still watching the episodes back, I got zero clarity at all,”

Hannah told Entertainment Tonight in an interview recorded after she returned from the Fiji set. The candid admission set the tone for a post‑dumping debrief that covered everything from her on‑screen bonds to the off‑screen vote that ended her stay on Love Island USA.

Love Island USA star Hannah’s exit, the unanswered vote, and what comes next

Hannah entered Love Island USA during the second week and quickly paired with bombshell Charlie Georgiou. Their chemistry was obvious, but Charlie’s own departure five days earlier forced Hannah to reset.

She pivoted decisively, telling Vulture on June 28 that her coupling with Pepe felt “more mature” and “the strongest connection in the villa” at the time. That progress, however, did not sway the four original women who controlled the June 22 elimination: Cierra Ortega, Huda Mustafa, Chelley Bissainthe, and Olandria Carthen. In her ET conversation, Hannah said she spent the immediate aftermath

“in ‘what the f*ck’ territory for the longest time.”

When she finally saw the episode, she searched for answers in the edit but “still got zero clarity.” Love Island USA viewers echoed her confusion online, wondering why a contestant who had twice forged strong pairings—first with Charlie, then with Pepe—was deemed the least deserving of a second chance. The lack of explanation stung most because it came from Islanders Hannah considered friends.

“I think Cierra, just because I loved her to death, and I just don’t know if she defended me at all,”

Hannah told Entertainment Tonight, when asked whose decision hurt most. She recalled late‑night chats during which Cierra acted like a “big sister,” only to vote Hannah out with the rationale that Iris and Amaya “haven’t had their opportunities.” Reflecting on that, Hannah added,

“I did feel a little betrayed in that sense, but I don’t hold any animosity towards them at all.”

Hannah reiterated the bewilderment in her Vulture interview:

“I thought watching the episodes back, I would get a little more clarity.”

She still does not know what was said in the girls’ deliberations, and although she believes making such a choice must have been difficult, she had expected Austin Shepard and Amaya to be dumped because their coupling “fell through the cracks.” In her words, Love Island USA normally keeps Islanders who demonstrate “the strongest connection,” and she felt she held that position twice.

While the elimination was emotionally taxing—“It’s been really hard. I won’t sugarcoat it,” she told Vulture—the Nebraska‑born fitness coach has chosen gratitude for the experience.

She described herself as feeling “blessed” for the chance to appear on Love Island USA and said she is “in a better headspace” now. Watching limited portions of the show (only the segments featuring her) helped her process the transition from a villa full of people to the “complete solitude” of the holding period before regaining her phone.

As for romance beyond Love Island USA, Hannah is leaving the door open. She told Entertainment Tonight that she would “absolutely” explore things with Pepe or Charlie in the real world “if they are still single.”

Hannah also wishes more of her partnership with Pepe had aired. “Maybe other Islanders could attest to that,” she told Vulture, lamenting that “really amazing moments” weren’t shown. Looking ahead, Hannah will watch the rest of the season as a fan, curious to see whether the Islanders who voted her out find the connections they hoped to preserve.
