The latest episode of MobLand further escalated the ongoing war between the Harrigans and Richie Stevenson. While Richie had wrongfully abducted Brendan and Seraphina Harrigan amidst their diamond deal gone wrong, he prepared the stage for them to be brutally tortured and then executed in the latest episode of MobLand.
Richie seemingly is consumed by his hatred for the Harrigans and his quest to avenge his son’s murder, as he directed the Mexican cartel to do his bidding and set up a live feed video call for Conrad and Maeve Harrigan to watch as their son and daughter were butchered.
While the cartel killed Brendan with a chainsaw on MobLand, Seraphina was miraculously spared after the Mexican cartel boss, Jaime, received a call from a mysterious character named Kat McAllister, played by Academy Award nominee Janet McTeer. Here’s everything you need to know.
MobLand: Kat McAllister's character and further details revealed
The very fact that Kat is able to convince as feared a cartel boss as Jaime to stop in his tracks and disobey Richie proves that Kat is a queenpin in her own right. The moment I saw her for the first time on screen, her dominance and power shone particularly brightly as she flew in her private aircraft. It is worth noting that previously, a character named Donnie had tried contacting Harry through Zosia.
Although Harry raced toward the warehouse where Brendan and Seraphina were being held, he was unable to reach them in time. It was then that Harry finally placed a call to Donnie, asking to be connected to Kat. As Kat pulled the strings, Jaime stopped short after executing Brendan. From their conversation, it appeared as if Harry and Kat had history between them. I’m excited to see how MobLand further fleshes out her character.
Helen Mirren opens up about MobLand
Academy Award nominee Helen Mirren recently spoke in an exclusive interview with TV Insider about her character Maeve Harrigan on the Paramount+ show. She remarked:
"I’ve never played anyone like Maeve before. I’ve never got close to it, I guess the closest I ever got was playing Phaedra in the theater. (There are) elements of Maeve in Phaedra — the sort of do-or-die-ness of the character — but I didn’t know going into it, really, what she was going to be like… As the scripts came, and it revealed to me what this character was, I just have to relax into playing her, and I love playing her. It’s one of my favorite characters ever, which is a terrible thing to say, but it is.”
She further added about Brendan’s death in the latest episode:
"I think she thought that Brendan would be protected. I do think that. But I think she also thought, ‘If I’ve got to sacrifice someone, I don’t really mind sacrificing Brendan,'. It was unfortunate. But of all of them, she wouldn’t have felt the same way about her grandson, right?”
MobLand airs new episodes exclusively on Paramount+.
