I hope Bridgerton Season 5 will adapt this fan-favorite character's love story (given it does not change the books again)

While Netflix's Bridgerton takes a frustratingly long time between seasons, the network earlier renewed the show for Seasons 5 and 6 in May 2025.

After Season 3 adapted Colin and Penelope's love story, Season 4 is currently in production and will adapt Benedict's story.

Based on Julia Quinn's novel series, Netflix's period romance series began with Daphne and adapts each Bridgerton sibling's love story in a season.

While Quinn followed alphabetical order for adapting her stories, with Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth, the Netflix series changed the order.

While Season 3 was supposed to adapt Benedict's story (according to the books), the creators instead adapted Colin's story with Penelope because it aligned more aptly with the show's narrative.

With Benedict's story being adapted in Season 4, I hope to see Eloise's story, To Sir Phillip, With Love, in Season 5.

While Eloise is the next Bridgerton in line, I think the show will change the book order once again, and fans might have to wait for two long seasons to see their favorite character's love story on-screen.

More on this in our story.

I hope to see Eloise's love story in Bridgerton Season 5

If Bridgerton Season 5 follows the order of Quinn's books, Eloise should get her love story in the next season. After her brother Benedict finds his fairy-tale romance in the upcoming season, Eloise should be next in line.

Since Season 1, Eloise has been a fan-favorite character because she didn't fit into the Regency period norms like her siblings Daphne and Anthony. I am excited to see the show adapt Eloise's story because so far, she has abstained from exploring matters of the heart, and we have only seen her bold and feminist side.

While the past three Bridgerton seasons focused on her siblings Daphne, Anthony, and Colin, she enjoyed a considerable amount of screen time, mostly trying to expose Lady Whistledown's identity. Eloise remains a favorite book character because of her independent thinking and inquisitive nature.

While I knew Quinn already had a dedicated book for Eloise, I liked her short-lived romance with Theo. Her romance with the print shop assistant had the potential to bloom because they shared the same values.

While Eloise spent most of her time trying to expand her knowledge horizons by reading, she found the equally different Theo interesting.

Like her, he was also an advocate for women's rights, but their romance faded even before it started.

I think Bridgerton Season 5 might change the books' order again

After Benedict, the two likely Bridgerton siblings for Season 5 are Francesca and Eloise. While Eloise is next in line (both alphabetically and according to the books), the past seasons have done nothing to elaborate on her love story.

In addition, Season 3 spent a surprisingly great time on Francesca's story, where she even got married to John.

The Season 3 finale saw Francesca head to Scotland with her husband John, his cousin Michaela, and Eloise. Since the events of Francesca's book When He Was Wicked are already set in motion, it's possible that Season 5 might adapt her story first, and the showrunners might skip Eloise's story for Season 6.

With two seasons to spare, the show can easily lay the groundwork for Eloise's love story. And even while it might take some time to see her love story on screen, I want the makers to do justice to her character.

Besides, the show's creator has openly expressed that they will change the order of the books if the show demands, like they did with Colin's story. Considering all the factors, sadly, Eloise might be the last in line.
