During the most recent episode of Mind Your Business, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Drew Sidora shared what she describes as one small choice that changed her life forever. She was finally diagnosed with adenomyosis after years of suffering from excruciating cramps and chronic pelvic pain. Though related to endometriosis, adenomyosis occurs when tissue that normally lines the uterus invades its muscular wall instead.

"I know all too well my personal story and journey dealing with that diagnosis. Dealing with the pain,” Sidora shared. “I went through a series of natural remedies and different surgical procedures. Ultimately, I had to have a hysterectomy in 2021.”

Sidora revealed that the persistent discomfort had affected her mental health and day-to-day routines. She also talked about how the diagnosis has made her decision to have a “mummy makeover” the year prior seem as much about appearance as it was health. Her candor offered the audience an intimate, unfiltered look at the hardships that reality stars more often than not face when cameras are turned off.

After decades of being dismissed for her symptoms, often only to be finally validated by a diagnosis that could end up ruining subsequent opportunities and even relationships on account of it, she resolved in 2021, deciding to have her uterus removed.

Sidora reframed her hysterectomy as a turning point in her quest to regain her well-being rather than as the end. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared,

“I delivered three beautiful babies. After my daughter, who is now 7, I discovered I was suffering from some symptoms of adenomyosis. I know all too well my personal story and journey dealing with that diagnosis.”
