Crave's new six-part comedy series, I Kill The Bear, will be a big new venture by Jared Keeso, best known as the creator and leading star of the Canadian hit Letterkenny.
Filming on the series began in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, with Keeso not just as creator and executive producer but as a leading cast member as well. Airing in 2026, the series revolves around a family of bear wranglers working on movie productions. After 100 years in the business, they decide that this film will be their final one.
The lead cast comprises an excellent ensemble, with ten new members joining Keeso. As reported by Deadline, these newcomers are Chad Kroeger, Adrian Holmes, Georges St-Pierre, Jonathan Torrens, Sarah-Maude Beauchesne, Kristin Kreuk, Dylan Playfair, Eliana Jones, Frederick Roy, Megha Sandhu, and Scott Thompson.
I Kill The Bear is being produced by New Metric Media in collaboration with Play Fun Games, while the story was co-created by Keeso with producer Trevor Risk. Direction and executive production are being handled by Dan and Sean Skene, while Mark Montefiore, Kara Haflidson, and Max Wolfond round off the main production team.
I Kill The Bear: Series and cast expansion explained

I Kill The Bear is a funny investigation of legacy and transformation set in an offbeat, rarely represented corner of the world: a family whose job is working with bears for movie productions. Having labored offstage in the movie business for a hundred years, the family decides that this movie will be their swan song.
This premise offers fertile ground upon which both absurdist comedy and touching generational contemplation can grow.
What distinguishes this show is its unconventional cast and creative lineage. Chad Kroeger's casting has been a particular attention-grabber, marking the Nickelback frontman’s significant foray into scripted TV. He will act alongside veteran TV and film stars such as Adrian Holmes, Georges St-Pierre, and Kristin Kreuk.
Holmes has been lauded for his dramatic performances in 19-2 and Bel-Air. St-Pierre contributes action-star legitimacy by virtue of appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The roster also invokes a sense of Canadian TV royalty in the form of Jonathan Torrens (Trailer Park Boys) and Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall). Together, the cast indicates a range in comedic styles spanning from deadpan humor to slapstick comedy.
Notably, several actors from Keeso’s previous series appear, including Dylan Playfair (Letterkenny) and Eliana Jones and Frederick Roy (Shoresy). This makes the project a kind of homecoming and extension of the "Keesoverse."
Kristin Kreuk and Sarah-Maude Beauchesne add recognizability for audiences familiar with genre TV, and Megha Sandhu’s recent work on Painkiller brings fresh energy to the ensemble.
I Kill The Bear has been created and distributed internationally by New Metric Media, the company that oversees Letterkenny as well as other hit comedy series. Dan and Sean Skene direct and oversee production as a continuation of the creative collaboration characteristic of Keeso's former projects. Mark Montefiore, Kara Haflidson, and Max Wolfond serve as executive producers.
With filming currently underway, everything points towards a highly anticipated premiere on Crave in 2026.
