Maya Hawke brought her jolly, energetic personality to her character, Robin Buckley, aka Rockin' Robin, who became a crucial part of the show that concluded in 2025. It was hard to say goodbye to Hawkins and everyone who existed in that fictional town that the Duffer Brothers gave us.
Recently, Hawke discussed the show on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. There, she mentioned Dustin's (Gaten Matarazzo) graduation speech, as he finally became a valedictorian. She said,
"How great is Gaten's speech, by the way? The Graduation speech. I loved that speech."
The speech she is talking about is part of the Stranger Things Season 5 finale, after the Hawkins crew has saved the town from the vines of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who also goes by the aliases One, Henry Creel, and more.
Dustin's speech in Stranger Things Season 5 will make you fearless
Dustin Henderson was always a badass character. His graduation speech is one piece of evidence of that. And when you see it, it will take away your fears.
At first, he goes on to thank his friends and everything that made him who he is. He also mentions meeting new people, people he became friends with, people "who were never even supposed" to be his friends. And when this gratitude ended, he dropped the bomb in the Stranger Things Season 5 finale by showing his middle finger, both literally and metaphorically, to Principal Higgins, whose expressions were worth seeing, by the way.
He mentions that the school needed to change and explains how it did so, of course, in a positive way. That happened thanks to Good Chaos, a part of the game they all played throughout the show, Dungeons & Dragons, which helped them understand everything that happened in it, and it all boiled down to the final showdown in Stranger Things Season 5.
But it wasn't just Dustin who was a combination of badass and nerd. Stranger Things Season 5 did that to the entire crew. In the very first episode, we can see their transformation, as the nerds take on the bullies head-on.
This was the second badass stunt Dustin pulled in the show
While this speech is going to live rent-free in our hearts for quite some time, it was the second stunt Dustin pulled in the show. His first stunt, which embarrassed everyone (including us), came in the Season 3 finale, when he and his long-distance girlfriend, Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo), duet on "Never Ending Story" as everyone listens, shocked. You cannot simply forget the expressions on the characters' faces.
