"I was mad at the producers": Farmer Wants a Wife's John Sansone reflects on near-kiss incident with Samantha

One of the Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 participants John Sansone appeared on Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari's podcast episode, released on May 13, 2025. Along with him was a fellow farmer, Matt.

During John's podcast appearance, he talked about various participants who left the show, the one that his mom chose for him, and how things went with Samantha. When the show host, Kristin, asked John about the near-kiss incident, which Samantha refused, and revealed what happened.

Farmer Wants a Wife's John recalled how he was "feeling good," and Samantha was "looking good." He said the producers from behind her were telling him to go for a kiss, after which he leaned in, but Samantha refused. He mentioned he was mad. To clarify, the host asked if John was mad at Samantha, to which he said:

"Not to her. No, I was mad at the producers. Coz I turned around at like twenty people and they're all like (imitates shock.)"

During the podcast, when the host, Kristin, asked John about Samantha and how she left, and how he didn't try to stop her, John responded that he was "into her."

"Um, but yeah, I mean, I...she was always teetering on the edge of leaving the whole time."

Surprised to learn that, the host asked the reason. Farmer Wants a Wife's star replied that he knew because he hung out with them all.

"So like, um...you know, it didn't surprise me at all when she decided to go," added John.

He also recalled his conversation with Samantha about when she said she would go to her home. John told her to let him know when she was leaving.

Kristin asked why John didn't fight to keep her and stop her from going home. He mentioned, even if he had fought, Samantha still probably would have gone home.

Sharing the reason behind why Samantha always wanted to leave the show, Farmer Wants a Wife's John said, he felt she didn't really wanted to "go on (the show)."

"What did you think when she denied your kiss? Like, what did you really think?" asked Kristin.

John recalled the incident and said he was "livid" and ripped off his mic. The reason was that the particular date was about "drinking" martinis, and they were his favorite.

"So like, All right, well, why don't you do that, like coz it's your thing. So I drank an entire thing of Gray Gosse. I don't mix it with vermouth. It was just straight vodka. So I was feeling good. You know, she was looking good, I was feeling good. And then behind her, the producers are doing like this (imitates kissing with hands.) And you know, she was looking at my lips the whole time," said John.

So when he leaned in for the kiss, Samantha refused that, and then he was "pissed." Kristin asked if he told Samantha that she tricked him into kissing, John clarified that he told that to the producers.
