The Love Island USA Season 6 spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa delivered immediate drama when former best friends Liv Walker and Kaylor Martin erupted into a public confrontation during the series premiere. The two reality stars, who formed an inseparable bond in Fiji and maintained their friendship after the show, found themselves at odds over trust issues and alleged dishonesty. When asked whether Kaylor was playing up the dramatics for cameras, Liv remained diplomatic but pointed:

"I never want to comment on how someone feels about a situation. But I feel like everyone can make their own judgment about that. I have my opinions, and it is how it is."

Love Island: Beyond the Villa reunites the Season 6 cast, but the spinoff quickly revealed that not all relationships survived the transition back to reality. During their stay in the villa, Liv and Kaylor seemed to have an unbreakable bond; they often travelled together and even started a combined YouTube channel called BLND MMNTS. But months before production started, their relationship soured, paving the way for a shocking altercation that startled both the audience and the other actors.

What happened between Liv and Kaylor on Love Island: Beyond the Villa?

The conflict came to a head during a rooftop party when Kaylor discovered through Snapchat that Liv had been out with her boyfriend and fellow cast member Kendall Washington. This revelation stung particularly because Liv had previously told Kaylor their planned gathering had been canceled.

"I woke up to Snapchats of them out," Kaylor explained to NBC Insider.

The Snapchat incident became the final straw in what Kaylor described as a pattern of dishonesty. She confronted Liv at the party, leading to tears and harsh words between the former friends.

According to Kaylor, the root of their problems stemmed from an earlier incident involving a brand deal. Both women were supposed to receive cameras from a sponsor, but Liv allegedly lied about receiving hers while Kaylor waited for her own.

"The camera was the root of it all, that fabricated lie, even though she owned it, I was still thinking about it. I felt like we kept taking steps back," Kaylor revealed.

This incident, combined with other perceived dishonesty about glam appointments and social plans, eroded Kaylor's trust in her friend.

For Love Island: Beyond the Villa's Liv, the confrontation felt sudden and unexpected. She admits that she didn't expect the fight, even though there had been underlying tension that had been building.

For the battle, Liv was totally unprepared. Even though there may have been some tension building between them, she thought everything was OK because they were spending time together regularly just before it all blew up. She was totally unprepared for the unexpected confrontation because she often views things in black and white. The moment really showed how differently both women were handling their issues on Love Island: Beyond the Villa.

Kendall Washington, another Love Island: Beyond the Villa cast member, unintentionally became embroiled in the conflict. The scenario became even more complicated because of his close friendships with both women, especially his developing relationship with Liv.

Although Kaylor admitted to observing Liv and Kendall's intimacy, she said that at first it didn't upset her.

"I did feel at a certain point that Liv and Kendall were closer than Liv and myself, but it never offended me," she said.

Kendall even attempted to mediate during the rooftop confrontation, though his efforts proved unsuccessful.

Where do they stand now?

Even after all the drama, both Liv and Kaylor are clearly still working through some mixed feelings about their broken friendship. Kaylor says trust is a big deal for her, especially after dealing with people in her own life who’ve lied to her.

She’s not sure she can stay close to someone if that kind of thing keeps happening. Still, it’s not all bad blood. Kaylor admits she really does care about Liv and sees her as someone who’s been a good friend in the past.

But based on upcoming previews of Love Island: Beyond the Villa, this feud is far from over. The tension looks like it’s going to keep boiling throughout the season. Meanwhile, both women are trying to make sense of where their friendship stands all while cameras are rolling and every move is getting aired for the world to see.

Love Island: Beyond the Villa premieres Sunday, July 13 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock, with new episodes streaming weekly on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
