The Idol I episode 5 starts with Se Na and Ra-Ik having an argument in the car over Byung-gyun. As soon as Se Na realizes that her car is out of control, one tire bursts, creating panic. The car hits the side of the road.

The episode takes the viewers to a flashback where Se Na breaks a pot, and her father tells her that her mother is angry because she didn't accept her mistake, and not because she broke the pot. When she says she didn't do it, her father tells her that the tickle tree wouldn't shake if she were telling the truth. The flashback is revealed to be a dream as Se Na suddenly wakes up.

Park Chung-jae, worried about Se Na, visits her in the hospital, and Ra-Ik reveals to him that she's got an arm fracture.

As Ra-Ik goes to call a doctor, he finds reporters hovering around looking for them. After all, Ra-Ik is a famous name in the industry. Se Na tells Chung-jae to investigate who is behind the car accident and leaves the hospital with Ra-Ik not to come across the reporters.

Things start getting interesting in Idol I Episode 5 as Ra-Ik and Se Na grow noticeably closer. Ra-Ik picks up Se Na after she struggles to walk, and he also places his hand in front of her as the taxi jerks, making sure she doesn't get hurt.

Later on, seeing Se Na with freshly washed hair, Ra-Ik asks her about 'stinky Se Na,' a nickname Byung-gyun used for her in the last episode. Se Na explains that it's just a nickname based on her name, not because she ever smelled.

Idol I Episode 5 recap: Ra-Ik shares his feelings with Se Na

In Idol I Episode 5, Ra-Ik is all out taking care of Se Na. When he goes to the kitchen, he sees the milk and peanut butter packaging with his face on them. He later talks about this to Se Na. However, Se Na has no intention of revealing that she is his die-hard fan. Ra-Ik tells her that he is ultimately a product that the brand uses to sell its items.

Se Na softens up after hearing this and asks him why he is saying all this all of a sudden. Ra-Ik tells her that he has never been loved before, as even after having so many fans, people only love the Ra-Ik of the Gold Boys and not the real Ra-Ik that he is. He adds that only one person truly understood him, hinting at Woo-seong.

Byung-gyun is under pressure to collect the evidence to prove that Ra-Ik is the murderer. The chief also lashes out at him for bringing Hye-joo in between, who has nothing to do with the case, at least as of now.

Upon coming back to his desk, he asks the investigator whether he has new information on the case, and it's revealed that Jae-hee actually showed up on the CCTV, proving that he wasn't in the hospital on the night of the murder.

When Byung-gyun investigates him during Idol I Episode 5, Jae-hee raises his voice, stating that he was hospitalized after Ra-Ik beat him. However, his lie doesn't last long after he sees his footage of leaving the hospital on CCTV.

Idol I Episode 5 recap: Chung-jae catches the conspirator and Se Na faces a new challenge

Chung-jae tells Se Na that the accident was actually planned by someone and even says that only Ra-Ik will be benefiting from this, suggesting he is the one who planned it all. Se Na, being a true fan, defends him, saying that she believes in him. Ra-Ik, secretly overhearing everything, feels happy. After all, there's finally someone who believes in him.

Turns out the accident was planned by someone that nobody expected: the two fans of Ra-Ik who trespassed in his house in the past. Ra-Ik releases them, making it clear that their revenge should be aimed at him and not somebody else.

As the two walk out of the police station, Se Na gets a call from the office. On arrival, she meets attorney Hwang in the office and is told to drop Ra-Ik's case because of Jae-hee's statement.

Since Se Na's firm is Goldie Entertainment’s legal counsel, they can't deal with both Jae-hee and Ra-Ik in opposition. However, Se Na, being Se Na, is not ready to drop the case and informs Ra-Ik about the face-to-face interrogation he is going to have with Jae-hee.

They approach Young-bin for any information on Jae-hee, and Young-bin reveals that on the night of the murder, both he and Jae-hee were in the hospital when somebody leaked about Jae-hee having an argument with Ra-Ik before Ra-Ik's solo concert. Jae-hee also received backlash from Ra-Ik's fans, which made him upset. When Young-bin woke up, Jae-hee was gone from his hospital bed, and soon after, news of Woo Seong's murder broke.

Later, Ra-Ik tells Se Na that his relationship with Jae-hee became bad after fans started saying things to him. Jae-hee also blamed Ra-Ik after Ra-Ik removed his drum part from a song and told him to leave the band if he couldn't do better. Ra-Ik admits that he acted immaturely and didn't speak properly.

Se Na tells him that she believes and trusts him and takes him to the tickle tree. When she jokingly says she doesn't trust him, the tree starts shaking, showing that she is lying.

Ra-Ik quietly tells the tickle tree that he didn't kill Woo Seong. When the tree doesn't shake, it confirms that he is telling the truth, leaving him relieved.

Just as the two begin to share their feelings, Hye-joo arrives at Se Na's house looking for Ra-Ik. She asks him to come with her, but Ra-Ik holds Se Na's hand and tells Hye-joo to leave, saying that this is where he belongs.
