One of the most impressive competitors on Season 23 of American Idol, John Foster, has become the subject of surprising online rumors. Social media platforms started to circulate rumors that the country singer was linked to country music great Dwight Yoakam after his stellar audition and subsequent rise in fame. Fans questioned his eligibility and background after some claimed he was already signed to Sugar Hill Records.

"I’m not related to Dwight Yoakam, nor am I currently signed under any record label (there was some misinformation that Dwight Yoakam signed me under Sugar Hill Records)," John clarified in a recent statement, aiming to set the record straight and maintain transparency with his growing fanbase.

However, there were other falsehoods on the internet. According to John, followers have also been making assumptions about his age, origins, and other private information. The accumulation of several rumors ultimately compelled him to take to Facebook and confront everything head-on. His post put an end to all the fan speculation by confirming his true age and hometown and disavowing any affiliation with Yoakam or record labels.

Foster keeps his attention on his mission in spite of the rumors, allowing his voice and principles to be heard above conjecture.

American Idol star John Foster puts an end to internet rumors

American Idol Season 23 breakout teen prodigy John Foster has finally responded to the flurry of online rumors about who he is. Both judges and fans have praised the singer for her emotional performances, but the sudden attention also brought with it a flurry of untrue rumors that went viral on social media. John, fed up with the escalating rumors, took to Facebook to correct the record and address the false information head-on.

The most enduring rumors questioned John's hometown and age. Several internet users thought he was from Kentucky and that he was 24, not 18. American Idol star clarified everything and wrote,

“I am 18 years old (not 24),” and adding, “I was born and raised in Louisiana. My hometown is Addis, LA. I’m not from Benton, Kentucky (I’ve never even been to Kentucky, but I hope to visit someday).”

One of the strangest rumors was that John had been signed to Sugar Hill Records and was related to country music icon Dwight Yoakam. The American Idol contestant vehemently disputed both, stating that he is not signed to any label and has no family ties to Yoakam.

"If you see something about me that’s not from my page (with the blue checkmark), there’s a chance that it may not be true! I hope this helps y’all to know me better as a person now that y’all know more about my music. If you have any questions about me, try commenting them under this post. Either I or someone who knows me well will likely answer you! God Bless!”

He wrote as he ended his post to his followers. Fans are excited to see what John will do next following his stirring Top 12 performance honoring Carrie Underwood, and his openness only serves to increase his attractiveness.
