With just six episodes, the British TV series depicted the story of how Jo was blackmailed into smuggling drugs to protect Sonny. However, as the series progressed, she formed an unlikely partnership with Cormac (Stuart Martin), who put her on this path of crime, and discovered that he was also just a pawn in the hands of the leader of these operations, Chief Constable Anton Marquis.

The duo then plotted against the ultimate boss and successfully sent him to prison, while Jo saved her son’s life by proving his innocence.

In Flight recap: Jo gets blackmailed to smuggle heroin

In Episode 1 of In Flight, we are introduced to the difficult life of flight attendant Jo Conran. Her son has been in prison after being charged with the murder of a boy from a criminal family. She is trying to cope with it as her colleagues and friends try to help her with the situation.

Later, she is approached by Cormac, who shows her a video of Sonny being attacked in prison, and asks her to smuggle 5 Kg of heroin to protect him. She initially doesn’t budge and tries to call the police and her former boyfriend, Dominic.

However, she later gives in and does what Cormac says, which results in Sonny being transferred to a better prison and also getting a new lawyer. While initially, Jo thinks Cormac is the main face of the smuggling business, she later finds out it is none other than a person of law, Chief Constable Anton Marquis.

In Flight recap: Jo finds out Anton has entrapped Cormac just like he did to her

As the series progresses, we learn about the main villain of the story. Jo finds out that just like how she was blackmailed into joining the crime, Cormac was the same. Anton used the same tactic of threatening Cormac with the life of his girlfriend, Aoife, who was serving in prison for drug crimes.

However, Cormac gradually realizes that he was never going to get his freedom from Anton if he didn’t act fast. His feelings toward Jo, and for his own redemption, Cormac makes an elaborate plan to betray his own boss and save Jo from continuing this life.

Jo plants drugs in Anton’s bags, as planned by Cormac, who later tips the police off that Anton is carrying drugs while they are coming back to London from Bangkok. Since Bangkok had strict rules against drug smuggling, Cormac’s plan appears to be a success.

However, the villain in In Flight would not go down without fighting, as he later orders to get Cormac killed after he goes back to his home.

In Flight recap: Jo saves Sonny, and Dominic saves Cormac

While the leader of the drug smuggling operation is sent to jail, there were still some hurdles to overcome for the other characters of In Flight. For instance, as Sonny had been saying that he did not kill the boy named Kristian Georgiev, Jo finally came across a witness. The witness, a Bulgarian teacher, told her that Kristian was killed by a boy with short hair and not Sonny, who had long hair. Since the teacher was a family man, he was threatened with not revealing this information.

Jo then tracked down the boys who were involved in the bar fight in Sofia, where Krsitian died, and learned that he was actually killed by a boy named Glenn Lunt. She shared all the evidence and information with Kristian’s mother and saved her own son, and she went to Bangkok to start a new life.

Elsewhere, Cormac might have put Anton behind bars, but couldn't stop him from plotting to kill Cormac, who was now being shot at by people outside his house. However, Dominic, who was present outside his house, waiting for him to find out about Jo, informed him about the shooters and later also took him to the hospital and saved his life.
