ABC's decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live! indefinitely, after comments from Kimmel about conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination and President Donald Trump, has been making all the headlines for the past few days. Everybody has an opinion on the decision and is not holding back.

In the latest news, Kimmel and his reps sat down with Disney execs (the parent company of ABC) to start a conversation about bringing his show back on air, but it turns out they've been unable to reach any new agreements.

The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! came on Wednesday after comments from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr on Benny Johnson's podcast regarding ABC's broadcast license. It was also provoked by criticism and actions from affiliates such as Nexstar and Sinclair.

However, the suspension has created much uproar for the broadcast company as well, with protesters gathering outside the Walt Disney Studios. The negative backlash has led to executives sitting down with Kimmel and his reps. The two parties were reportedly trying to figure out a way to bring back Kimmel's show without aggravating the network's affiliates.

However, according to reports, they have been unable to reach a middle ground. Kimmel was set to address the situation on his Monday show, which was later cancelled. In the latest meeting, he was set on delivering the same address he had originally planned. In this response, it appears he wouldn't apologize, but would point out that his comments were mischaracterized.

The Disney executives felt that this monologue did not meet the standards needed for the cooling-off period that this escalating situation urgently requires. As of now, there is no update on whether Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be reinstated on ABC or remain suspended.

President Donald Trump reacted to the suspension by celebrating and referring to the host as without talent and ratings:

"Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that's possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT"

He later went on to comment on other TV networks producing negative coverage:

"97% negative, and yet I won easily. I won all seven swing states. They give me only bad press. I mean they’re getting a license. I would think maybe their licenses should be taken away."

Only time will tell if the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! will come to a halt anytime soon, but for now:
