VisionQuest Episodes 5-6 are streaming on Disney+. The latest batch of episodes opened in the aftermath of Ultron's betrayal at the gala, where he took full control of Vision's physical body, locking him and the AIs in his digital mindscape.

According to Comic Book Movie, VisionQuest Episode 5 revealed that Ultron took Vision's body to a highly secured location, meaning the AIs could not access the real-time monitoring feeds. But the AIs got their hands on archival footage from 20 hours ago, which revealed that Ultron took Tommy to a bar.

As Vision contemplated disabling the firewall completely to rescue Tommy, the AIs were against it. Episode 5 took a turn when Ultron gave Vision an ultimatum, as Jocasta's real motive came to light.

Here is the complete recap.

Vision makes a difficult decision in VisionQuest Episode 5

Once Vision and the AIs realized the footage was from 20 hours ago, E.D.I.T.H. discovered an anomaly in the data logs. It turns out Ultron maintained communication with Paladin through back channels, which enabled the assassin to kidnap Tommy again. While the AIs strongly opposed lowering the firewall, Vision worried about Tommy.

VisionQuest Episode 5 took a turn when the footage also revealed that Ultron met with Jocasta, and she wanted Katerina's facial key from him. It turns out Ultron did a complete facial scan of Katerina before she vaporized, which was the key Jocasta wanted to 'cure' humanity. While Jocasta suggested eloping together, Ultron returned to the attic, where Vision confronted him.

Vision was naturally angry at Ultron's betrayal in VisionQuest Episode 5. Ultron's actions not only put Tommy in danger but also empowered Jocasta, who wanted to rule the world. Ultron asked Vision to make a choice: either disable the firewall and allow Ultron to escape into the wider digital world or remain trapped with the AIs forever. While the AIs pleaded against it, Vision decided to disable the firewall. As E.D.I.T.H. glitched under immense emotional pressure, Vision set out to capture Ultron. However, when he regained consciousness, he found himself aboard an animal transport plane bound for Madripoor with Lisa, meaning Ultron had set him to rescue Tommy from Paladin.

Jocasta shares her backstory with Ultron in Episode 6

Ultron found Jocasta's neural network in VisionQuest Episode 6, which gave way to her backstory. As Jocasta revealed, Jo Carrington decided to pursue neuroscience after losing her father at a young age. While she used a digital scan of her own mind to create the first AI to help save lives, she could not save herself from her father's terminal disease.

Jocasta was betrayed by her collaborators, who sold her technology to Tony Stark for weapons development. Jocasta revealed that her nanobots were buried in her gravestone and are only accessible through biometric keys.

A new alliance is forged in VisionQuest Episode 6

Tommy remained captured with Paladin in Madripoor in Episode 6. Paladin said that he had installed a motion-sensitive chip inside Tommy's arm, which would explode if he attempted to run. Vision and Lisa arrived at the scene to rescue Tommy. While E.D.I.T.H. convinced Paladin's AI handler to back away, Paladin asserted that he was adamant about finishing his job.

Things took a turn in VisionQuest Episode 6 when Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar arrived and shot at Paladin. It turns out the Client sent Raza to eliminate Paladin and capture Vision. Raza's interference forced Paladin and Vision to team up and fight until Paladin emerged victorious in a knife fight. Seeing the extreme destruction, the Client emerged from the shadows and promised a heart and soul to Vision in return for his complete surrender.

In the final moments of VisionQuest Episode 6, Jocasta displayed her technology by redirecting a nanobot into Lisa, who attacked Vision. While Tommy rescued Vision, the stunt convinced Ultron to join Jocasta in her mission to cure humanity. As the episode concluded, Jocasta and Ultron shared a kiss, forming a new alliance.
