Who is Armand and how he became an important character in Interview with the Vampire

Armand is initially introduced as Rashid in the show, who is the servant of Louis. As the journalist Daniel Molloy arrives at Louis’ residence to record the immortal’s biography, he feels that Rashid knows more than he lets on and Rashid finally reveals that he is the vampire Armand. He is not Louis’ servant, but a fierce and jealous lover of Louis. Armand’s mystery lies in the fact that he had a tumultuous past. He was a slave in a brothel and had a dark youth. Armand even had a courtship with Lestat, before he fell for Louis. Armand even conducted a plan to separate Louis from Lestat and Claudia.
Finally, Daniel feels that there are gaps in Louis and Armand’s story and it is shown that Armand has hypnotic abilities that makes him control Louis. He has systematically isolated Louis and even though he is now expelled from Louis’ life, Armand is in the shadows, waiting for his turn.
How Armand can have an important role in the future of Interview with the Vampire

In an interview with Collider, actor Assad Zaman states that there were “six or seven versions of Armand” in the show. He also states that Armand is “scrambling for his life inside.” In season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, the deception of Louis was an important plot twist and Armand was at the center of it all.
In an interview with Vulture, Assad Zaman spoke about his character after the season 2 finale. He says, “I’m not fully sure that we’ve even heard a true voice for Armand yet…I’m really curious to see what happened in Dubai after Louis left the room…”
The third season of the show will be based on Lestat from Anne Rice’s novel series and Armand’s youth, his relationship with Lestat, is an important element in the book. Therefore, the character will have an important role to play.
