Invasion Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Mitsuki receives mysterious alien signals and battles against an assassin 

Invasion Season 3 is a sci-fi drama series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil. The show features Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, Billy Barratt, and others. Invasion Season 3 is the latest installment in the show and premiered on August 22, 2025, on Apple TV+.

Invasion Season 3 continues to expand upon the story of Earth being visited by aliens who are increasingly becoming a threat to humans. Invasion Season 3 focuses on a group of people across the globe who must face struggles while trying to keep themselves alive. The second episode of Invasion Season 3 focuses on Mitsuki and other plot points. Here’s a quick recap of the episode.

Invasion Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Mitsuki comes out of her hiding

Invasion Season 3 Episode 2 begins with Mitsuki being alone and secluded from the outside world and living in the Hida Mountains, formerly Japan and hunting in the forest, and writing in her journal. Mitsuki only speaks with a little girl called Saya and her grandfather, but hears the wails of the aliens and passes out.

When she awakens, she writes “noise” in her journal and wonders what this could mean. She checks online and sees the news about the manhunt for Trevante Cole. Mitsuki is surprised that he is back, and after hacking the WDC, she realizes that this is the reason why she is hearing all the alien sounds. However, Mitsuki hacking into the WDC alarms them, and they begin to trace her location.

In the South Pole, downed ship number 5 is investigated as there has been some activity that has made the workers worried. These ships are used to mine power cores. On the other hand, Nikhil Kapur is determined to continue, and when Director Regan calls, they have a strained relationship. However, he learns about Mitsuki and the WDC wanting to bring her over, so he and Regan head to Japan together.

Mitsuki uses a crossbow and flees the armed guard, and she leaves a message for Kapur in code to go to a secluded temple so that they can talk. Mitsuki and Kapur talk about their grievances, and Kapur talks about the cosmic ocean. However, Mitsuki gets a headache again, and Kapur tells Regan that they haven’t found the girl when he catches up with her.

Invasion Season 3 Episode 2 recap: Mitsuki receives an alien message

Jack Hollander is unhappy with the failure of the WDC and brings an assassin who uses aliens for practice to go on the hunt. Mitsuki also heads to Kanazawa and finds her home after 2 years. Kenji also shows up and cannot walk properly. He is also getting the same headaches as Mitsuki and claims to have made contact with aliens and seen something bad. He also has scars across his arms that prove his words.

Mitsuki wants to get closer to the aliens for this new signal, but the assassin, Kaede, goes to their house and sees that Mitsuki is in the general area. Ume covers for Mitsuki as she hides, and finally, Mitsuki causes a distraction and gets out. Ume gives the keys to Kenji’s bike and tells her to leave and find what she wants. Mitsuki also manages to plant a decoy to throw Skywatch off her scent, and Kaede figures out that Mitsuki wants answers about the alien signal.

Mitsuki reaches a containment cell with one of the aliens, and she and Kaede scramble and tumble down the steps together. Mitsuki passes out, and when she awakens, she finds the alien over her and looking like it is about to strike her. However, it doesn’t attack but delivers a message to her and leaves. Mitsuki realizes that this is the signal. Finally, Mitsuki tells Kapur about his experience, and she knows that something big is coming.
