Invasion Season 3 Episode 5 aired on September 18, 2025, and followed two parallel storylines that collided in a violent end. Trevante and Mitsuki survived the helicopter crash in the Dead Zone after alien vines cushioned the impact, though the pilots were killed. The group faced attacks from hunter-killers, and Mitsuki discovered she could connect to the alien hivemind through the vines.
Trevante and Mitsuki survived the crash of the helicopter in the Dead Zone. The two pilots were killed, but the aircraft did not explode or catch fire. The reason the passengers lived was because the alien vines cushioned the fall and wrapped around the helicopter. The survivors emerged into the forest, only to face attacks from hunter-killers.
In Invasion Season 3 Episode 5, Trevante was unable to fire his weapon, haunted by flashes of memories from the mothership and Caspar’s desperate calls for help. Mitsuki stepped forward and touched the vines, realizing she could connect to the alien hivemind.
Through that connection, she stopped a hunter-killer before soldiers killed it with bullets and blades. She felt the pain of the creature when it was struck, which unsettled her. She admitted to finding the emotions of the aliens beautiful, angering the soldiers who suspected she might be influenced.
In Invasion Season 3 Episode 5, Trevante calmed the men and kept the group from turning on her. Hollander then ordered the mission to continue on foot with the shard bomb carried as cargo. Mitsuki collapsed soon after from overexertion but was stabilized when Nikhil attached a device that cut her connection to the aliens. The group then pressed forward through the forest.
Invasion Season 3 Episode 5: Aneesha and Clark plot their escape from Infinitas

Aneesha and Clark were brought to a Shadow Lake safehouse controlled by Infinitas. The group welcomed them, but the couple did not want to stay. Their only concern was returning to Idaho and reuniting with their children.
They believed the activists would not allow them to leave freely despite assurances. A call to their children gave them relief but also created tension. Luke worried that the alien return was connected to him because he had received coded flashes earlier in the season.
Aneesha reassured him, but Clark was upset to learn about this information for the first time. He accused Aneesha of hiding important details from him and of taking risks without telling him. She stayed silent, though she knew Clark had also hidden his research on Infinitas from her. The conflict remained unresolved.
Aneesha then tried to leave by sneaking into a car in the garage. Marilyn discovered her but did not force her to stay. Instead, she offered help to reach the nearest airbase. For the time being, Aneesha and Clark stayed with Infinitas, their plans temporarily on hold. Their path was redirected toward the same airbase where the WDC team had reached after their struggle through the Dead Zone.
Invasion Season 3 Episode 5: A warning about the Dead Zone emerges

Jamila overheard Marilyn speaking to one of her scouts about the Dead Zone. The scout had reported signs of a new form of alien near the mothership. Jamila urged that the WDC needed to be warned about the danger. She believed that sharing the information could save lives. Suspicion grew around how Infinitas had such detailed knowledge of the WDC mission.
Members of the group explained they had a wide network and had hacked government systems before, but there was also the possibility of moles inside the WDC. At the same time, Hollander commanded three soldiers to hold back hunter-killers and destroy the downed helicopter as a trap.
The explosion went off, and it appeared the soldiers had sacrificed themselves. Later, two of those soldiers returned to the unit alive, claiming they had somehow survived. Their return created unease. Some suspected the aliens might have taken control of them, while others believed betrayal against the government was possible.
This development created uncertainty within the ranks. Jamila’s warning about the Dead Zone remained urgent, as the mission moved toward the mothership. Concerns over loyalty and possible infiltration introduced an additional threat, compounding the danger posed by the alien attacks in the forest.
Invasion Season 3 Episode 5: Hollander’s fate is sealed inside the Airbase

Jack Hollander died inside the WDC airbase after letting Infinitas inside. He agreed to allow Marilyn Tanner to use the antenna to contact her scout in the Dead Zone. Trevante supported Jamila’s claim that the scout had information about new dangers, which convinced Hollander.
Left alone with Marilyn in the control room, he was attacked when she pulled a knife and cut his throat. At the same time, Infinitas members hidden on rooftops opened fire on WDC soldiers outside. They targeted everyone except their own allies. Jamila was shocked to realize Joel, whom she trusted as family, was part of the ambush. The WDC forces were overwhelmed, and the shard bomb intended for the mothership was destroyed in the assault.
Trevante guided survivors into a helicopter and escaped the base. Infinitas' gunmen continued their assault, with Joel even attempting to sacrifice himself by pulling the pin of a grenade.
The betrayal showed that Infinitas had no intention of cooperating with the WDC. Hollander’s death ended his leadership abruptly, leaving the WDC without its commander in the Dead Zone mission. The survivors fled, but their mission suffered a major setback with the loss of both Hollander and the shard bomb.
