Is Mitsuki dead or alive?

One of the central mysteries for Invasion Season 4 remains about Mitsuki's uncertain fate. In the final moments of the Invasion Season 3 finale, Mitsuki embraced her alien connection and sacrificed herself to destroy the Mothership. She successfully severed the connection between the Mothership and the alien hivemind, which allowed Jamila, Nikhil and Trevante to proceed with their plan.

While humans finally won the battle, Mitsuki was engulfed by a mysterious light, resulting in her complete disappearance. Since Season 3 concluded without confirming Mitsuki's fate, it remains to be seen whether she is dead, alive or has been taken by the aliens.

Will the core characters overcome their past trauma?

While Invasion Season 3 concluded in victory for humans, it left them completely shattered. After witnessing such death and destruction throughout the three seasons, Trevante and Aneesha aimed for a fresh start but they are still haunted by horrifying memories of the people they have lost.

Is the alien threat truly over?

Another haunting question for Invasion Season 4 is about the alien threat to humanity. While Nikhil, Trevante and Jamila managed to destroy the Mothership, thanks to Mitsuki's sacrifice, in the Invasion Season 3 finale, the extraterrestrial threat can likely return in the next season.

Will Verna's death put an end to Infinitas' faith?

The Infinatas emerged as the true misguided cult in Invasion Season 3, who believed the alien attack was a spiritual event meant to reunite humanity with the dead. While Verna's death at Aneesha's hands in the Invasion Season 3 finale put an end to this fanaticism, the post-Invasion world could still harbour traces of the Infinatas' faith.

Since Verna took many followers and convinced people that aliens are the key to their dead loved ones, it remains to be seen how much of this faith has seeped into the post-invasion Earth. Invasion Season 4 needs to answer this burning question.

Will Nikhil find Mitsuki?

Even after all the death and destruction, Invasion Season 3 ended on a hopeful note for Aneesha and Trevante. While Aneesha returned to her kids, Trevante was promoted to a commander's position. However, Nikhil remains without a family or purpose, following which, he vows to find Mitsuki.

Since Mitsuki's fate is unknown, Invasion Season 4 needs to happen to reveal the result of Nikhil's search.
