Invincible, the Prime Video adult animated series created by Robert Kirkman, has been a success since its first season. The show follows a teenager, Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), who turns into a superhero. He is guided by his father, Nolan Grayson (voiced by J. K. Simmons) or Omni-Man, who happens to be the most powerful superhero on the planet.

The show has had three successful seasons, with Steven Yeun getting nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for his performance in Invincible season 3. On July 17, 2025, the show announced on Instagram that it had been renewed for a fifth season.

Invincible season 5

As Invincible's Instagram post confirms, the adult animated series has been renewed for a fifth season. Not only that, the post also confirmed that voice recording for season five has been completed as well. It was earlier announced that season four will be released sometime in 2026. Since season five has been recorded, we can probably expect a release in 2027.

The confirmation post had the following caption:

"Season 5, Mark...this is GOOD NEWS."

The video begins with Walton Goggins (who voices Cecil Stedman) saying,

"Season f***ing five. You know what's that called? A success!"

This is followed by the official confirmation message on the screen that says,

"Season five is complete and we just finished voice recording it!"

That is followed by a clip of Steven Yeun, taken probably when the cast was still recording the voice work. We can see Yeun say,

"Alright, I will stop, stopping us here. I'll just read it."

The rest of the video consists of short clips of various members of the voice cast either reacting to the season 5 renewal or returning to recording. We also get a glimpse of a new cast member, Matthew Rhys. We don't hear much from him except an "Alright. Brilliant."

But we know he is voicing an unknown character in seasons 4 and 5 of Invincible, as confirmed by a comment by the show's official account (@invincible.hq) under the confirmation video that says,

"Also yes, that is the legendary Matthew Rhys, joining Seasons 4 and 5 as[REDACTED BY THE GDA]"

Other than Matthew Rhys, the original voice cast of Invincible will be returning for seasons four and five. The returning cast includes Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson, Sandra Oh as Deborah Grayson, and J. K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson.

The returning recurring cast includes Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve/Samantha Eve Wilkins, Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien, Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman, Jason Mantzoukas as Rex Sloan/Rex Splode, Zazie Beetz as Amber Justine Bennett, Zachary Quinto as Rudolph Connors and Robot's original body, Chris Diamantopoulos as Donald Ferguson, Mark Hamill as Arthur Rosenbaum, and Malese Jow as Katherine Cha/Dupli-Kate among others.

Invincible is based on the comic book series by the same name, created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. Skybound Animations produces the show along with Maude Lewis and Helen Leigh. The show has been executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, Cory Walker, David Alpert, Margaret M. Dean, Catherine Winder, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg.

Invincible is streaming on Prime Video.
