Irish Blood Season 1 Episode 1 recap

The episode of Irish Blood begins with Fiona Sharpe (Alicia Silverstone) giving a lecture to Girl Scouts about how her father left her and her mother and therefore she became a divorce lawyer. Afterwards, Fiona and her assistant Tess (Djouliet Amara) celebrate over one of their clients’ alimony settlement and Fiona plans on a date night. When she gets ready to go to bed, Dave (Henry Garrett) tries talking to her and mentions taking the relationship to the next level. However, Fiona tells him that he needs to leave.
The next morning, Tess informs Fiona that she has a package for her from Ireland and when Fiona opens it, there is a set of keys and a picture with a number on the back. When Fiona dials the number, she gets the voicemail of Declan Murphy (Jason O’Mara). Fiona decides to tell her mother (Wendy Crewson) about the package and even though her mother tells her to ignore it, Fiona is determined to travel to Ireland and talk to her father face-to-face.
When Fiona arrives in Ireland in Irish Blood, she ends up going to the accounting firm from where she received the package and finds out that her father is in a casket. Confused and emotional, she meets Declan’s mother and they spend some time talking, even though Fiona does not reveal her identity to her. When Fiona asks if Declan had a family, his mother says no.
The episode of Irish Blood also has a scene where Fiona meets with Declan’s siblings and Finn Murphy. As the room begins to sing a song, Fiona becomes emotional and remembers her childhood. As she leaves the funeral, Fiona tells Tess about her experience and Tess informs her that she did a reverse image search on the locker photo and found a decal, a cartoon, and some letters. Tess also finds an address that she texts to Fiona.
When Fiona reaches the address, she finds a locker in the boxing gym and uses the key to find Declan’s briefcase. However, the singer from the funeral arrives and he is confused about a stranger having Declan’s belongings. Therefore, Fiona has to show him the photo and the key and singer recognizes Fiona. Thereafter, the singer and Fiona have a conversation and he reveals that Declan was a father to him and that he mysteriously died while going to a cliff.
Fiona’s adventure about finding out about her father in Irish Blood

When Fiona heads out to Ballybunion Cliff Walk in Irish Blood, she meets a man who tells her that Declan used to come here often. As Fiona can’t find anything, she goes back to her hotel and is surprisingly attacked by a masked intruder. Fiona stabs him with a toothbrush and he runs away. As Fiona gives a description of the man to the police, Officer (Ruth Codd) asks if he took anything. At that moment, Fiona realizes that the man wanted to take something and was unable to do so.
Afterwards, Fiona has a call with her mother and she informs Fiona that she always loved Declan and that he never abused her. Fiona’s mother is emotional over Declan’s death and Fiona tells her that she thinks that he was murdered. Fiona also tells her mother about Declan’s briefcase and her mother gets alarmed and tells her to throw it away. Ultimately, Fiona’s mother informs her that when Declan left, a few men came to the house and behaved badly with her. Declan had got into a bad business and the men had come to collect money. Therefore, she and Declan made a vow never to tell Fiona about it.
